"Who put Doug and Bob McKenzie in charge of the Olympics?"

"The gold medal for most inept host of the past generation has long been hanging heavily from the neck of the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta, known for runaway greed, transportation snafus and two deaths in a terrorist bombing," he wrote. "But Vancouver has established itself as a contender to steal the prize that no Olympic city wants to own."

Yup the world is watching..

A lot of ignorance in these comments. For instance: "you would figure Canada, of all places, could do snow and ice well. You would figure wrong."
If anyone had any smarts they would know that Vancouver gets less annual snow and has warmer winter conditions than 1/3 of major US cities.

Americans just like to grumble and who better than to pick at then their northern neighbours.

"We watched the women's downhill and - holy balls - we ended up making a drinking game out of every time one of them wiped out."

"We watched the women's downhill and - holy balls - we ended up making a drinking game out of every time one of them wiped out."

To continue the quote: "But in reality, it was frightening - those poor women came flying down that track, legs bending the wrong way, heads thwacking on frozen ground; it was brutal."
