I use it in my PWO shake

PWO shake.

I'm switching over from dextrose as this stuff has a lower GI rating and is said to create the shuttle support from it's high molecular weight that results in rapid digestion and passing into the intestines.

Where as dextrose's shuttle support system relies on the insulin response, which, if your diet isn't in check may cause an increase in body fat. However, insulin is in fact the most anabolic hormone in the human body, so having that increase PWO may outweigh the negatives.

WMS is still relatively new to the mainstream, thus testing and proof of it's results and advantages are still very limited as testing and other things simply haven't been done. If fact, the GI isn't even exactly known.

So, I'll be testing it myself and see if anything changes. I do feel that it's easier on my stomach.

I love it, i just have the orange flavoured stuff, and it tastes like tang....I take it for preworkout sometimes, and almost always is my choice for postworkout ...I drink it, and then 15 minutes later take in my whey isolate......Very good stuff, i havent noticed anything major between this and dextrose, but the taste is what i like mostly....:)

I take it pre w/o as well with my NO Reload, post w/o here and there when I dont feel like having Oats. Its good to change it up once in a while too.

I have a jar of it I use to use pre-workout when I was staying on base. I don't really have anything to compare it to as I have never used dextrose pre-workout before. However I have never had any kind of stomach discomfort while taking it and my strength / gains were decent + recovery was decent for the amount of food I was taking in. (While on base I only got 3 meals a day and had no solid food from after 5pm until 7am)

I'll start pumping in one scoop pre-workout and one scoop post-workout and I'll get back to yas in a few days.

Just to keep in mind.. a lot of the studies people see and hear about are done on a product called Vitargo which is a different monster then Waxy Maize and crazy expensive. Most people will tend to agree there is very little difference between Waxy Maize, Dextrose or Maltodextrin as they ALL get absorbed quickly. (AFAIK the GI of Dextrose is 115 and Waxy Maize Starch is 85 (plain white sugar being 75 I believe))

EDIT: Here is the actual product I will be using: It has Micronized Barley Amylopectin, Micronized Wazy Maize Starch, Micronized Wazy Maize Potato Startch

Waxy Maize Maxx (https://www.svncanada.com/cart_product.php?id=1130&type=1)
so I am assuming this stuff is probably superior to just the normal Waxy Maize (much more similar to Vitargo then Waxy Maize)

So basically I'll give you guys a heads up if I see anything with this specific product, but please keep in mind its a different monster then bulk Waxy Maize...

ANOTHER EDIT: Here is a cached link to Will Brinks article on it. HERE (http://74.125.113.132/search?q=cache:-F2AI15wjesJ:brinkzone.com/articledetails.php%3Faid%3D139%26acatid%3D3+waxy+m aize+pre+workout&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca&client=firefox-a) I apologize if it does not work it is no on his website for some reason and it is a Google Cache of it.

In Short:
:: Most studies done on WMS (Waxy Maize Starch) is actually done a on product called Vitargo.
::8 Male cyclist were glycogen depleted and given different carb sources (Dextrose, WMS, Maltodextrin) -- Dextrose was superior a bit to both..
::Basically states how in studies WMS is inferior to Dextrose for glycogen storage, insulin response, and blood glucose levels.
:: As far as spiking insulin and glucose levels White Bread is 2x effective then WMS.
:: Vitargo > all other for PWO.

"The Brink Bottom Line: More data is needed in my view on Vitargo to answer some lingering questions, but it’s one of the few products out there with more substance than sheer hype (which is more then can be said for WMS…) with Vitargo firmly in the “might be worth a try” category hovering on “definitely worth using” if/when additional studies are done to confirm/support some of my previous comments and questions above."

(If this does not work (the website) PM me I will send you a word document with it)

Now my personal opinion: Whatever you take in for carbs pre workout or whenever will end up as glucose. WMS will end up as glucose, Dextrose will end up as glucose etc., Myself I would actually recommend oats and whey protein post-workout. Low GI food will suffice and cut the potential fat gain from a high GI source. Your glycogen levels are not overly low after one workout - you didn't just run a marathon. However I will now switch to my Waxy Maize Maxx and I'll give yous a heads up if I see any significant difference (ie. energy, pumps, fullness, fat loss - I am currently cutting)

Since it costs 10x`s the price of dextrose and dosen`t produce any tangible effects over dextrose I see no reason to dish out the $$$ for this stuff. And I`ve tried it before as well. Milo`s said if you`re using over 75 grams of dextrose maxy maize can offer a benefit as it`s easier on the stomach. But I`ve done over 75 grams of dextrose and never had any problems.

But like many things that don`t work on the first or second try, (glutamine) I may give it another shot as TS sells it for cheap now.

^ Like you said, the evidence is really there in a lot of the studies done. Vitargo is superior, but not Waxy Maize. Any study I have seen done with Dextrose vs Waxy Maize.. the difference is minimal with Dextrose usually being the best.

Waxy Maize is easily double the price, and produces the same (perhaps less) effect then Dextrose. May as well pick the most cost-efficient. Unless of course you get stomach discomfort with Dextrose, then I would choose WMS.
