After Tiramisu posted those vids of his interviews and I listened to a couple he seems to really be in the know of what was going on during his time. Is he someone that should be listened to and his ideas / knowledge respected?

I had never heard of him before somehow and Im thinking I should look up more of his stuff.

Thoughts?

IMO, absolutely... during the early years, Dan was the one that spoke the words we all needed to hear... no one else was... I found that after Ben Johnson got nailed, any useful info was so hard to come by, yet Duchaine always pushed the envelope... might not have always agreed with him, but I listened... he obviously knew way more than me...

Yes and No, the interviews are 20 years old and much of what he was supposing has been shown to be fairie dust.... pyruvate, picolinate, etc, etc.

He was however pretty dead on with drug use especially in the area of contest prep and many of the current guru's started with his Underground Body Opus. He was the mad scientist of his time and was experimenting with extreme dosages and completely unused drugs primarily on female bodybuilders and figure girls.

You should be afraid of Dan Duchaines advice but it is the historical source of much of the bro science that is tossed about 30 years later.x

Dan Duchaine is known around the steroid world as the steroid guru mostly due to his pro-steroid opinions that he was not unwilling to share with the public and candidly shared his opinions on news shows such as 20/20 and 60 Minutes. He is also the author of several books about steroids including Underground Steroid Handbook for Men and Women and Underground Body Opus: Militant Weight Loss and Recomposition.

Again Dan's work was ground breaking, often a frankenstein experiment, regularily went horribly wrong but was still the best stuff out there at the time.

His works should not be applied blindly as we've learned quite a bit since a period when he was the only crazy bugger willing to write his books from a jail cell.

Yes and no.Back then he was the best for sure.Alot of stuff we have today came from Dan,but most of it evolved. For the most part,I would not use any of his methods today. But overall He's a good read and you can really appreciate the work he did back when peptides and some steroids were just coming out

I say listen to them as they`re part of bodybuilding history. Never heard of him you say? Man, he`s the original steroid guru. I remember his undergroud steroid book. The pages were printed in red so you couldn`t photocopy them. Every steroid in the book, he`d tried himself. Dan had THE worst genetics ever for a bodybuilder. It was said he was on 14 different drugs once just to have a so so body. The guy had a seriously twisted mind, funny dude for sure. But he was always fascinated by the problems people had and felt a need to solve them. Yeah, he ****ed up many times along the way. He even had his girlfriend get some calve implants in mexico, later on having to get her leg amputated. He was about the extremes and paved the way to what is being done today.

I wish he were still alive, I wonder what type of products we would have seen him develop. He was the first to have androstenedione on the market from his company Osmo. Anyone remember that? Could go and on about Dan, listen to those interviews as memoires of what a true pioneer is, a man who became the worlds most in demand steroid guru who studied in theatre of all things.

RIP Dan Duchaine.

USH is a very funny read, the info may be outdated but every steroid user will love it.
