Have you started dieting yet?....16 weeks out would have been Feb 1...and the last week really doesnt count as you arent dropping much fat when carbing up etc...that leaves 13 weeks...time is ticking.

I am starting my diet next week... I stay pretty lean all year round... if anything I have a hard time keeping my weight up... I will try to do monthly progress photos...

This is roughly my starting point...

Thanks! I am not sure of the exact address, it's not free... I think it's around $30...

This would be considered my off season condition... no cardio and eating as much as a small familly :laugh

Prejudging is usually 20 to 25 bucks and evening show is 30 to 40 bucks somewhere in that range. But as far as seeing awesome physiques and getting motivated, it's worth it IMO.

Evening show is more for entertainment. If there is a guest poser (generally an IFBB Pro) you'll see them at the night show. The pre-judging is where the show is actually judged. Not a lot of people there so you will probably be able to sit closer to the front and actually see how a bodybuilding show runs.

The evening show is a lot more interesting for most people and the competitors will do their individual routines choreographed to music. Night show also costs more than the pre-judging (usually something like 40 vs 20). If you wanted to compete in the future you would learn more from the pre-judging.

Why? You come in where you come in. As long as you are conditioned enough I am not sure why or what it matters?

Andre
06-05-2010, 04:15 PM
I would rather come in at the top of one weight class instead of at the bottom of the next class up...

So a silly question scenario then:

Week out weighing 207. Looking crisp, dialed right in and looks as there isn't another lb of fat to loss. Just drop water which if that peeled is likely only 2-3lbs of water.

Do you ramp up cardio, drop the calories, etc try and make 199 at the risk of losing muscle, looking flat and competing as a light heavy?

or

Do you stay the course and come in looking sharp with superb conditioning, competing at 204lbs and as a heavy weight?

Andre
06-05-2010, 05:05 PM
I am no contest guru... but in this scenario, I would say making 199 is not smart...

I'm no contest guru either.

I just hate to see guys try to make a certain weight class. As long as you are as conditioned as you possible can be I don't see it making that big of a difference esp. when you factor in that you could be causing yourself harm by trying to make a certain weight class - losing muscle, flattening out, etc.

You're what, 5.5"? You'll do well either as a 199lb lightheavy weight or as a 204 heavy weight as long as you are conditioned.

Plenty of other crap to sweat over in contest prep. Don't let this be one of them :)
