The opposite is true. Policy makers don't want cops to use their fists anymore and when they started hiring women they had to give them something else to use besides hand to hand combat. I think they are stupid and think they should go back to hiring men who can handle their fists properly but that's too un PC for the pinkos running this country. Goons are not the best idea for coppers anyway I guess. Still, they've given too many tools to cops who don't think about using them. Tazers are too ****ing dangerous IMO. I've seen enough anecdotal evidence already. Whenever I wanted immediate attitude adjustment I pulled out my asp/expandable night stick and extended it. I didn't threaten to use it or point or wave it at the dude. I merely pointed it at the ground. The bad guy ALWAYS got the idea. A well coordinated weightlifter with a carbon fibre weapon in his hand can lop off limbs at will if it's used to maximum effect. I never had to use it and I thank God I didn't have to cuz that would have been some serious wounds to the other guy and no one needs that shit. Train people properly and often and you wouldn't have these 110 females and pussy guys shocking people to death. I say ban them.

I'm guessing it's quite similar to the Canadian Forces Fitness Test which is a watered down version of what I had to do at RMC. It's a joe athlete test that caters to smaller more agile people with better cardio.

One of my good buddies who is a fairly solid 5' 10'' 280 was in good shape but was on remedial PT for 4 straight years because of a stupid agility test. It's just the way they do things I guess. Probably didn't change because of females although in the CF the women have way lower requirements (on a test that is already too easy). Someone else will know but I bet it's the same for police.
