****, today I was doing t-bar rows in the corner with a dumbbell on the bar. When I got up to five plates I new that is when you need to get someone to hold the bar down. So I ask a guy to hold the bar down and during my set the bar lifted up and ended up going through the wall. That workout was ****ed after that shit.

LOL! Shit that sucks. I always ask the person who`s being spoted, it they perfer by the elbows, wrists, wehter they want a lift off... In this case all`s he had to do was hold the bar down, must have been distracted by your ass or something...

The worst is people that give you a shit spot on purpose.
I did chest with a guy who was bigger than me, but not stronger. He failed to press 3 plates and when I went to press it, i was getting my reps out and he would help me about half way up even though I didnt need it. When my set was over he gave me a "You're almost there"... pff, with anyone else spotting the reps would have been fine douche....

Oh man that sucks!! Ya same for me, I only ask someone I know
or someone that looks like they know what thier doing.
This one dude(known as "chest boy") asked me to spot him on 4 plates aside for flat bench and I've seen him in the past with his HORRIBLE form. So I'm thinking "greaaaat" I help him get it off the rack and then he yells at me...."dont help, dont help"
He does his 1/4 rep and back up on the rack. I just walked away immediatly after and never helped again.
oh and he's known as "chest boy" because that's the only exercise we've
ever seen him do...lol

He looked like he knew what he was doing but I guess not. When I was done my set all he did was give me a dirty look and then he walked away. He did not even tell me what happened.

good spots are hard to come by. I just look for someone who has a clue of what were doing. I say what reps im shooting for and dont help till X reps. Then i tell them elbows when i say. That is great to avoid the person who drasticly overspots you and you feel like it was a worhtless set...
CHECK MY POST COUNTT>>>>>666 AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHH im the devil..

Big J did you get in shit for the hole in the wall?
Good spot is hard to find. I got injured once while someone was spotting me on bench. I was going for a heavy lift and I needed spot to unrack the weight. He wasn't paying attention and lifted it up too high and the weight came down on my arms and hurt my shoulder. After that I didn't get a spotter anymore unless it was someone that knew how to spot.

Yep, that's why I try to get a buddy to come with me on my chest and shoulder days. If I'm alone during those days, I make sure to ask a guy who seems to know what's he's doing and tell him not to spot me unless my face turns blue or if I start bleeding from my eyes. If you just ask people to spot you without giving them instructions they usually help you all the way through.
