Its about the 10 Laws of Resource Geography, I cant really find to much about it.

But I dont really get this hopefully someone knows more about it then myself.

Law of Diversity-Driven Expansion

"“[resource] expansion depends on capturing and using transient energy. The more different means a system possesses for recapturing, using, and passing around energy before its discharge from the system, the larger are the cumulative consequences of the energy it receives”

Hopefully someone has a better idea.

**** thats shitty, usually my profs are pretty good just this one uses aweful quotes and doesnt really explain...

Does this make it any different maybe you can make sense of it now?

“[resource] expansion depends on capturing and using [not lasting] energy. The more different means a system possesses for recapturing, using, and passing around energy before its discharge from the system, the larger are the [increasing] consequences of the energy it receives”

I found more of the text from the quote he used. With examples

The more different means a system possesses for recapturing, using, and passing around energy before its discharge from the system, however, the larger are the cumulative consequences of the energy it receives, and the more resilient the system is. Thus diverse ensembles expand in a rich environment, which is created by the diverse use and reuse of received energy. For example, a diversified city will generate much more local expansion from a new business venture than a small town, much like a well developed forest's ecosystem will convert more sunlight into biomass than a desert. The refuelment of growing cities, unlike their initial start, depends more on replacing imports than generating new exports

My understanding here is that its better to be diverse when you know that you will get more in return depending on what/where you plant or do?

in what context are you supposed to explain this quote? is it related to a specific geography problem? i might be able to help you but i dont fully understand what you are asking me to do...

I was just asking if you understood the quote, Im talking about the past, present and future (mis)management of biodiversity using the 10 laws of resource geography.

But I dont understand this law so Im kinda stuck lol

i think the example you showed in your other post sums it up quite well. what part do you not understand?

Ok I just wanted to make sure thats what others thought then more chances it being right lol

So you agree that this law is when you want to expand you need to know the research behind what your going to do to get full (cant think of the exact word I want to use here..) gains from your expansion.

Im just trying to think of a example but cant think of one besides the one from the quote.

lol I have another of her just laying back topless in her panties.

But can you think of a example of a limited resource that can be used in this situation?

So I was a bit off, this is what is supposed to mean

"the law you mention says that ecosystems with higher biodiversity produce more
biomass ("expansion"/biological growth); since biomass production (and CO2 entrapment)
are desirable, it follows that we should strive to preserve biodiversity (instead of what
we do - destroy it)"
