When I do overhead tricep extentions just underneath the short head tri towards the elbow it kills, doesn't really matter how much weight i use.

When I do straight bar curls my inner forearms kill.

Any reasons to why this is happening or anything i can do to help this?

for me I just lay off direct arm work for a while till all feels better, unless you find different exercises for arms that don't cause you any pain

Go see a physiotherapist. Obviously just "laying off" movements that aggravate it will allow it to get better, but if it is caused by tightness/inflexibilty in your tendons or ligaments then you need to find out which stretches you can do to FIX the problem. Usually people don't realize that elbow pain is cause by tight forearms/wrists...so ya stretch those out

ART therapy with a chiro or physiotherapist worked wonders for me. 6 visits and I was good to go. Before that I couldn't lift a 20 lb db without pain in my elbows and forearms. Now nothing hurts.

Reason why i quit doing direct bicept work over 2 years ago. My forearms would flare up no matter what i tried.. devo09 has some good advice, i did that and the physiotherapist had me doing these stretches that pretty much, for the most part, cured it. I still have to stay away from curls though.

In addition stretching and massive warm-up sets, the way I do this is to find exercises that do work. For example, I find that skullcrushers and overhead extensions really give me serious elbow pain. However, things like CG-bench and pushdowns work really well.

Same thing for biceps... I really struggle with pronation when doing curls and such. Something in the joints doesn't work properly at all, even with no weight. I've got no issues with hammer curls and plain-jane preacher curls though!

It's easy to work around without killing yourself or sacrificing pain-free movements for gains that will likely make 0 impact whatsoever. Play around with various arm movements, I'm sure you will find something that works.

for me all the stretching, warm-up sets in this world would not eleviate this problem without some rest and yes some physio as well. But then again I was working my ass of with a big ol" chainsaw 14-16 hrs a day bach then too ;)

Not sure why, but it seems after a while the body just starts rejecting certain exercises.

I had to stop doing overhead extensions, skull crushers and straight curls because of pain. Now I only do curls with either an angled grip, or hammer grip and for tris I do close grip bench, and cable pull/push down exercises with bars, single handles and the rope. Pain no more.

Sounds like we have exactly the same issue. Personally, I attribute mine to having broken my elbow a few years back.

Being chronic sucks. If you have access to ART it would probably help. Dev has the right idea. Stretching, Aggressive self massage, Ice, Light rehab work. It can take months of persistent work to unwind the damage once you've got chronic pain.
