so i am gonna attempt this again to get on stage..As i said ..if the diabetes plays a factor then i'll have to forego...dieting really kills me and its not that i can't do it mentally just physically it can kill me literally...so i have to be careful

First 2 shots were taken last week. Third shot taken last night...i have to be sneaky with my camera in the gym as they aren't allowed!..lol

I have never kept a log so this should be interesting to say the least...enjoy my journey everyone...hopefully as the title says it's not a deadend road...

good luck bud! It is really too bad that your diabetes ****s you up everytime because you obviously have the dedication and the physique to do well on stage.

I hope this time is the right time for you.

Cheers!

What is the issue with diabetes and dieting in your case? I had been following collette nelson for quite a while and she was able to win at the worlds overall while being a full blown daily injection diabetic.

i could do it incorrectly and run my sugars high all the time but thats not ideal in the long run...i don't know how Collette is with control of her diabetes and sugars but i am now meticulous with them and don't want to see any high blood sugars on the way...

haha..babes it's because I have a good person in my corner..keeps me on target, reminds me to eat and also takes care of the hair trimming..LOL...

Well guys, I weighed in this morning at 225...Abs are starting to be prominent first thing in the morning. Feel i have lost a little bit of fullness but that is due to limited carbs to get the weight off...My goal is to be at least 2-3 weeks early in my prep so i can coast and not have to worry or do anything extreme. Today I was at the gym at 515am for 40 mins of cardio..wasn't too bad as the energy was there. Am learning that I don't need any insulin upon waking as my sugars were 6.3 and dipped to 4.8 by the end of cardio. I am able to bring my breakfast to the gym and pretty much eat right after. This consisted of 7 egg whites and 1 whole egg and 1/2 cup of cream of wheat. I am trying to stay away from oatmeal as it tends to jack my sugars. I have some fish and chicken on the agenda for my protein today. I don't rely on protein shakes whatsoever as i don't like the watery look they do to my physique.

Anyways guys thats today's update. I will post some new pics very soon. I actually had a buddy take some last night for school photography class he is taking. It was gonna do some cirque du soleil type photoshopping with them i guess..

Thanks again for all the support guys and especially thanks to my girl LoriAnn!

IW, Its all about Fit for the next 10 weeks. He has an amazing outlook on life and drive to achieve any thing he sets his mind on. I'm here to support him and do what i can to make life easier. Personally, I am not sure if i'll pop up on the national stages this year but regardless whether i do or not i will be dieting down in a couple weeks to get ready for photo shoots and to support Fit.

Sometimes is good to take a day off the gym to refocus and recharge babe. You don't need to catch any of the virus' going around from your system being compromised aka being tired. its weird as i thought the same until i tested my sugars about 45 mins after both..oatmeal my sugars are very high, cream of wheat just a slight increase. So in essence less insulin needed to combat it.

ok..time for an update...

The last 24 hrs weren't the best... I was in the gym yesterday morning and I decided to do free bench...Now i haven't done free bench in yrs..god knows why i attempted it yesterday..Anyways at the new club i have been training at the racking pegs are longer then i have ever seen on a bench..so i warmed up with 225 and then put on 275...on i think my 3rd rep i snagged the peg and it rolled off my palms (i use a false grip) and fell, bounced actually onto my lower 2 ribs (just under my chest) I went to the hospital and I have fractured the right side. My god..i couldn't catch my breath for a good 20 mins..They are very very sore..and i can't exert any pressure at this point...last night was a terrible sleep to say the least. HAHA, if it's not fricken one thing its another..I haven't had an injury or a mishap like this in at least 15 yrs of lifting..i don't know what caused it, low carbs or just the moons not aligning correctly but it happened..Still staying focused and on the diet as i have no intentions of stopping. Just a speed bump...I think the biggest thing when you have something like this is you just want comfort food but I neglected against it and stuck to my chicken and brussels..I'll post some new pics when i feel a bit better.

Lori-ann took me to the hospital today also as i had to get dye injected into me to see how much oxygen is getting to my eyes..All diabetes related. On a good note everything is getting better or not worse with them...to say obstacles are in the way is an understatement..but just trying to stay positive...

Thanks to all who have subscribed to this thread i will do my best to keep this updated!

One of my workout partners had the same thing happen as well, nothing broken but soft tissue damage. He took about 2 weeks to get back into the gym to lift. I think he attempted cardio after a week. We both use the false grip because it's easier on the wrists. He's switched since.
Anyway at least keep up your meal plan, If worse comes to worse do the Mississauga show a month later.
Get better bro.

yeah bro, they are sore as F$%k but i am pushing through it. I did back yesterday and just the stretch alone was bothersome. Nothing a few Motrin couldn't help ease...Got a very watery look after the injury for a few days as the inflamation around the rib cage seemed to effect everything. Kind of plays on you a bit but I knew it wasnt' going to last too long. Other then that just keep plugging away...

on a side note..i friggin hate $1 days at no frills...did you know you can buy 400ml of smartie ice cream for a $1 right now...arrrghhh..
