vanoc is being very tight lipped about this. I heard that it is going to be Terry Fox's mom handing the torch to Terry Fox (I know he is dead). Supposedly its going to be computer generated where Terry Fox's mom is hold up the torch to a projector screen and a torch Terry Fox is going to be holding will light the flame at BC place stadium.

I heard it was some Canadian Olympic wrestler of some time ago. But obviously its just a rumor right now.
I wouldnt mind seeing Wayne or Walter Gretzky do it.

That hologram terry fox idea sounds legit, but why would Gretski's dad and brother run with the torch and not him... seems like he could also be a pretty likely candidate.
I wouldnt mind seeing George Bush light it, that would be so powerful and moving!

Mrs. Fox deserves way more than Gretzky. The guy lives in LA and doesn't have the same story of inspiration that Terry did that has become Canadian lore.

So it was Gretzky who lit it.
The guy won Canadas first gold medal in a long ass time in mens hockey. Hes a icon when you think of Canada or hockey.

Good thing ole 'Out of Shapesky' didn't have to run the torch the whole way...he was almost dying with the little jog he did.
