View Full Version : Undercover calling or prank?

Memo

One of my coworker today received a phone call from a unknown person telling him he knew someone that he knew. This person was asking for drugs. Obviously my friend said he was not selling drugs, since he is not selling anyway. My friend found this phone call very suspicious since the caller ask him first if he was still in business and if he was still living at the same address, then saying the address my friend lives at. My friend is French from Quebec like me and the caller spoke french as well. I am the only french friend my friend have.

What should he be doing about this, call the cops about it and file a complaints that an anonymous caller ask for drugs? The number was unknown as well.

Neither me or him sell, or use recs drugs. I was thinking he might have been a wrong number, but since he spoke french, we live in calgary. This would have been very unlikely.

Its what he will be doing. I am still very surprised if its the way police work now, is this even legal?

seems fishy considering he speaks french and knows your addy........ I say prank call for sure, way to coincidental....... also if he's not selling he has nothing to worry about....... maybe some of the old french boys busting your balls

I would say it was a cop jiggling the wire.

doesn't sound like the cops to me, they would do it alot smoother then that. They would have had to have gotten his name or number from somewhere, and thats would mean he was ratted out. But if he's not selling who gives a ****. Stick to the story " I(he) don't sell, stop calling me(him) or I'll(he'll) call the cops on you "....and so on.

" I have this friend..........lol........"

Jiggling the line isn't intended to be smooth,it shakes somebody up and they observe the reaction...

perhaps a guy got pinched by the police, and then told them he could give them a bigger dealer for a lesser charge.

Otherwise, the police probably would not make a call like that

Or a competitor spun a nice story for 35 cents?

C'est tres ****e.

Could be 5-0, but did the guy speak like he was from Quebec? Nobody out west born there speaks Quebecois so if it was law enforcement it was probably the RCMP.

Where I live the RCMP number comes up as blocked. And they did actually call me up out of the blue once and start asking about what they claimed was a motor vehicle incident at first, and it turned out to be about a break in in which a similar vehicle to mine was used.
Pretty slick really, they were asking questions and the answers they were looking for had nothing to do with the incident they said.

You never know, some guys might be stupid enough to take the bait, which is why they would try that.
If they thought you're a big player, and they really wanted you, they'd probably get a bit more sophisticated IMHO. They'd send someone to your gym to be your "friend", or you might notice the same vehicle all the time.

99% chance its one of your Buddy's ****ing with ya, but ya never know. I'd watch it till you find out.

spoke like he was straight from quebec city, using slang as well like Gazon and Poude.
