I was listening to the radio today and they were talking about some people that where going to run with the torch . People like Terry Fox's dad , Wayne Gretzky and / or his dad , and then they mentioned Arnold Schwarzenegger .
Why would they have Arnold run with the Canadian torch ?

there was a big debate about it!! some people say he shouldn't be allowed to carry the oly torch because of his admitted steroid use... all in all, it's a political move...
MORE SHOCKING... would be Jan Arden running (waddling) with the torch.. I hope they have defibrillators on hand!
I got a pic of Eddie the Eagle passing the torch right on the corner of my street!
I don't care that he's a steroid user . My thing is he is not Canadian . SHouldn't this be a Canadian thing ?
Do you think that the USA would let Mr.Harper carry the torch ? I don't think so.

Well the thing is they were saying that the oly is a world event and its a common tradition to allow international athletes to run the relay in the hosting country. But I wonder how many canadians ran in other countries with the torch....But i hear arnold and gordon campbell (our be premier in bc), get along well. When its really gordon campbell sucking him off like a lot of canadian politicans sucking off their counterparts in the states (this doesnt apply to all politicans). Im willing to bet that arnold will have seats very close if not next to gordon campbell during the opening ceremonies that have been paid by canadian tax payers. Personally I believe only people that should be running the torch relay should be accomplished athletes, aspiring athletes, or people that have done something for the community they are running in (like extraordinary volunteering or something).

I live right near where Arnold is going to be holding the torch so I'll be snapping as many pics as I can lol....

No American should be carrying the torch on Canadian soil. Period. No way in hell would they allow us to do it on theirs. So as buildingtheskinny`s says, they can suck it... Isn`t Arnold from Austria?

I know a little something about torch runners.. I'll throw it out there...
there was an "application" process, all you had to do was apply, and if they needed a runner near where you applied, you might have gotten in!... there was also a refural process, where other people could refer you to be a runner... like if you are celebrity, have done something good for the community, are a supporter of sport, or a contributer (financially) to canadian sport. Athletes are given first spot... others fill in the blanks.
every torch is available for the runner to purchase for (i think) 600 bucks (Leigh knows the number... I forget what it is but it's quite a bit)... what is there... 10 000 runners, plus if they all buy thier torch.. wow... recoup some of the loss.
3 Elite performance center athletes ran with the torch
