4-7 hours, it's good to have casein before bed to keep your body in a positive nitrogen balance while you sleep. Cottage Cheese is also a good source for Casein. I know if you eat fats it helps slow down the absorbtion rate, so maybe try adding some healthy fats to your cottage cheese.

I was using Bio-X Fusion, a casien/whey blend but it just tasted great to me. I have to consider how ideal is it to have a slow digesting protein in your system when while you sleep your metabolism slows down? I suppose much depends on what your running and if you're running at all. Sometimes I just think it's a good excuse to pig out before I go to bed even though I probably don't need it as long as I have something as soon as I wake up.

vpx - zero impact. priceis right up there and the protein blend is top notch. only thing is the taste isnt as good as Lean Dessert. Reason I stopped using lean dessert is the first type protein listed is whey concntrate. I'm not into paying high price for protein whos main protein is concentrate. not concentrate in vpx.

I use Matrix 5.0 which is a time released protein blend. Or if you want to save $$$, a bucket of cottage cheese will do the trick.

Our Fusion is a great product for sure and Im glad you like it.


I recently tasted Dymatize Elite 12 Hour. The blueberry tastes delicious but the label is misleading. Its much more Soy Protein than advertised. While they list it as one of the last protein ingredients, the Soy protein grit is obvious. I took Soy protein for years when Casein wasnt readily available.

I think the best I've tasted was BSN's syntha-6 vanilla flavour....amazing stuff. Very creamy and mixes extremely easily. I also really liked a nightime formula by muscletech...can't remember the name, but it was really tasty.
