WEP is okay but it has been shown to be vulnerable to hackers, problem with WEP is that each packet of bytes carries your SSID and other critical info in it. A packet sniffer can reveal your log info in minutes. I recommend WPA, the updated encryption tool used in all new wireless routers now. WPA is much harder to crack, it's not hacker-proof but it's way better than WEP.

So where would you buy the most latest/updated wireless encrypted router then?

Future shop and best buy are okay, walmart is great though. Keep your receipt and return the router within a year once the newest model comes out and tell them it broke and exchange it for the newest one there. LOL! I don't do this personally but I've heard of folks who do.

Not only will they steal your bandwidth they could be doing illegal activities on your wireless network and your ass gets busted for it..

Anyways if you use WPA-AES or TIK you will be ok, make sure you choose a nice passphrase.

Turn of SSID broadcasting as well...
and if your router supports it Turn ON Access control which allows your router to only "talk" to the computer or devices that have there Mac address added in the Allow List.

PM me if you got any questions.
