Had to do the old "random" Urine Test for work today and it came back with a trace amount of protein in it.

Any particular reason other than the obvious, too much protein in the diet scenario basically?

inflamed kidney is often the issue. doesn't have anything to do with dietary protein.

I don't no, but my bp is a+ and she said it was a minute trace so not to be alarmed....just odd as I have never had the issue before...huh

trace amounts aren't a worry. I went off looking around the net as I tend to worry about my own kidneys. aas and a ketogenic diet put a bit of a load on I'm sure.

The way the kidney and krebs cycle works the protein molecule shouldn't pass through the kidney into the urine. However, stress, heavy exercise, dehydration and such can all cause enough disturbance to allow trace amounts to pass.

do you mind my asking why you're subject to urine tests at work? I didn't think that was legal in Canada.
