not to take anything away from this extremely impressive lift. unreal!

but....

is there such a thing as a really, REALLY, strong guy who can lift serious weight who isnt morbidly obese? specifically in the gut area....what is up with the guts on strongmen?

Strong as hell, without a doubt, but I am much more impressed with a non morbidly obese lifter with double the length of ROM doing 405x13. This guy looks as though his fat tits are a springboard for the lifts. I doubt this guy could do 405 x13 shirtless with a medium grip.

Thats one tough shirt...he had to struggle like hell just to touch his chest on the first lift and it looked difficult on most others...if it was raw I would be impressed.

Konstantin Konstantinov. You tube search him. The dude is a machine, and not a bad build.

He is my idol. Plus he lifts mostly raw if not entirely.

And I agree with P. Shirted lifts do not impress me.

Ive done 585 (6 plates per side) in the gym raw for 5...so 13 with a shirt is good but not that impressive.

You mean you were in the gym put on 6 plates a side unracked the weight and held it at arms length for 5 seconds right?:D

Those endomorph guys just seem to be able to pack on that extra bit of mass (and fat), and they say mass moves mass.

Those endomorph guys just seem to be able to pack on that extra bit of mass (and fat), and they say mass moves mass. you are right on that one.....weight moves weight.....and for the other guys complaining about his belly....i kind of like my benchers belly....not much fat on me but when i get a gut full of air it looks like im smuggling watermelons in my shirt....

I'm kinda the same. I call it my "power gut".

Bodybuilders do seem like they're better at powerlifting than powerlifters are at bodybuilding.

I can't really judge the impressiveness of a shirted lift and I'm pretty sure that you have to know what kind of shirt, single ply, multi ply, ghetto to really be able to judge the "strength" of a geared lifter.

I won't be holding 600 pounds over my chest any time soon but I really can't judge the lift on its own merits.

I thought the reps weren`t that bad. Just surprised he got so many as the first one wasen`t looking so good. The guy isn`t that fat...

bro, the first rep looked bad because he couldnt pull the bar down enough to touch his chest. Once he managed to pull the bar down, the judge signaled, and then the bar sprung up like a boner on a highschool kid

I guess the suit slims him down with it being tight and all. Pretty sure I`d think he looks fat dressed normally.

^^ how does a shirt give such an advantage? i dont understand? it aids you in the lift? how does it help you move the weight?

waderow

it stretches on the low side, and gives you a lift off the chest, and major compression and stability

so the reps were good then. That comment about the boner on a high school kid is kind of homo, lol...

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. You`d get along with my dad. His solution what you said or put them on an ilsand and "Ka Boo!" he always says as he does the hand gestures that goes with it.

I would say it is still impressive, but the shirt changes things up. My buddy gets 150lbs from the shirt on his 1rm.

Do you have any video of your raw bench?

not impressed. raw lifts is where the real strength is. suits these days add way too much to a persons lift

Not saying the dude was fit but I think the angle of the video makes him look fatter than he is, with the arch that PL use it has his gut up in the air.

Take the how to bench vid that was posted with Dave Tate here a while back and move the camera angle to the same as this vid and Tate will look a whole lot fatter than he is as well. JMO
