This is for my mom, so no fancy video cards or anything. I was just going to look at something cheap from future shop, bestbuy or dell. Anyone got any suggestions?

Yea I was also thinking about heading over to Canada Computers.

I can build it myself but I just dont know how to get it up and running after all the parts are put together

Here is a great laptop deal....
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5612015&Sku=M975-150035

This is a Mini. It has an Atom processor but it is enough power for most. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5507373&CatId=2628

Dude you gotta get a dell. The only computer I have that lasted more than 3 years is a Dell. Love it!
