I have access to a steamroom, and I can easily go from the gym to the steam room in a matter of minutes. Would this be beneficial for my cut ? Or not so much ? I stay hydrated during my workout so I wouldn't say that would be an issue, what are the pros and cons to doing the steam ?

I guess the steam room would help clear the oils and bacteria from your skin if you had a shower right after but there aren't any real benefits to this while cutting.

I love my steam room!. have one in my Condo.

When in there for 20 minutes (on a day in which I've taken off from the Gym) I come out as Vascular as I would after a mediocre workout.

Certainly helps get me ready for bed. Settles me right down..

So it's pretty much just a personal decision as to whether or not I'd like to just relax after a workout or on a day off ?

I love my gym's sauna to bits. I usually go in there to do my stretching and abs once my workouts are over. Does wonders for my skin, respiratory system, and immune system as well.

Very good for stretching....not sure I can see any added benefit to cutting?

That`s just creepy Aaron. I`d never go in the sauna as I always fear some weirdo doing shit like you just described. Stretching and training abs in the sauna is totally gay and hope, really hope you do this when you`re alone.

Well I've heard alot about how good that "hot yoga" shit is for your body, similar to doing stretches in a steam room. I can see how that would be beneficial for your muscles.

I bought an inrared sauna and use it for the stretching as well as detoxification. Awhile ago I had tight sore forearms, my masage therapist couldn't believe the "knots" I had, began stertching in the sauna & within three weeks all was healed up. Also increased my stretching ability by a long shot in my hams, shoulders , hips ankles & upper back. Detoxified and limber :-)

I plan to use it to drop water as opposed to diruretics the day of contest weigh-in as well. Aiming for about 4% loss of weight

I frown upon your improper use of adjectives, but that's not the battle I want to fight right now. As you may see from others in this thread, I'm hardly the exception here. Most people I see in my sauna stretch, and I got the idea of doing abs from two other guys who do it regularly. That said, if it bothers you, that's fine. I don't work out in the same gym as you, so it's not like there's any harm done.

This is some funny stuff! The people in this thread who uses the steam rooms have them in privacy. So yeah, you wanna do that alone, that`s cool. And I don`t doubt the effectiveness the stretching must be. Makes me want to try it myself.

However, it`s very important that you become aware how truely uncomfortable you`re making many others feel. Besides I think training abs in the sauna is a bad idea, don`t you get light headed? You could pass out and only wonder if you got raped upon wakening...

No naked toe touching in the steam room. It's a new rule.

If I'm not alone (rare at 10AM), I typically ask first to make sure I don't bother them. Common courtesy goes a long way. As for the light-headed/fatigue/dehydration argument, that's just more motivation.

I find my endurance is obviously severely depleted, but, similar to the stretching logic, the heat really helps flexibility and "burn" when doing sit-ups. Obviously, the majority of my ab work (weights, cables, machines, bars, swiss, mats) cannot be done in a sauna. It's just harmless things like sit-ups, planks, etc. Strangely, I sweat the same amount regardless of whether I'm just lying/sitting there or cranking out sets/stretches.

Alright, since you have the curtosy to ask, you`re off the hook bro... But man, the thought of opening the door and seeing a guy doing planks is funny indeed! But like I said, the stretching is very logical. But when I train I`m there for so long, extra time in the sauna just dosen`t appeal to me.
