Looks like he had a prosthetic arm or something. His free hand never clenched or moved the whole vid.

Yup, there are an amazing amount of young amputees in the U.S. right now. Between Iraq and Afghanastan they are chewing up their young men.

I remember a few years back coming across a whole group of people dedicated to weird deadlift variations. One handed, index fingers only etc...

It seems like grip related lifts were very popular several decades ago. I found an intersting site called oldtime strongman. These articles/books may be worth looking into for anyone wanting to focus on grip strength: http://www.oldtimestrongman.com/classic_grip_courses.html

I used to do a one-handed "deadlift" many years ago that pulled very strongly at the low lats...I couldn't find the right feel last time I tried it....

The late great Jón Páll Sigmarsson!

His tribute DVD is a must watch!

"Sadly, Jon Pall died of a massive heart attack while deadlifting in his gym on January 16th, 1993. He will always be remembered for being a wonderful showman, sportsman, and even a hero. His Icelandic Viking legacy is being carried on, however, by fellow countryman Magnus ver Magnusson."

My birthday is January 16th... I think of him every year!

Brooks Kubic - Dinosaur Training has a video - "The lost art of dumbbell training" where he does some obscenely heavy dumbbell lifts.

Definitely a wierd guy but he has some cool ideas.
