First off I hope these are the nuts that Palumbo praises. I`m not sure if he means "macadamian" or "macadamia", but I doubt there can be 2 kinds of nuts that sound so alike that are different.

I picked some up at costco. They taste really good. If they please a picky son of a bitch like me, I`m willing to bet you`ll like them as well. The advantage of these nuts compared to say almonds, is that you can eat them much faster. In case you`re on your break and need to get in that quick snack. But they cost about twice as much as almonds. Thumbs up!

most health food stores carry the oil like Capers, Whole Foods or Choices. I have gotten mine in Greek stores as well before.

I found a nice italian specialty store in winnipeg that has good mac oil. Much more convenient than mail ordering.

They sure are good . Those are something that can be very easy to over eat on.

I cant eat the damn things. I open a bag and before you know its done, or close to it. One of those food items that you cant just grab one handful, you keep saying "ok just one more" over and over.

What i do is i MIX them in a container with other "less tasty" nuts...loll...and seeds and this way i have more control over myself.I have the same problem with cashews..:(

I get all my nuts at Costco. Those macadamia nuts are indeed awesome. And yeah wifey was complaining that they cost considerably more for a much smaller container and I plow through em quickly. :) Only problem with the nuts from costco is they salt them to death. I love em, but its probably my salt allowance for the day in one serving.

I find the mixed nuts they have is a nice compromise. Around the same price as the Almonds, but they mix cashews, almonds, walnuts, brazil nuts, and the odd macadamia can be found. 50% cashews though. Pricewise I dont think you can beat costco...1.1kg for around $10-12.

And somebody was telling me I sound like a fat chick sometimes...

But the salt content is low in these nuts. They only have in the low 200mg of sodium per 1/2 cup. That`s fine. Plus I only eat 1/4 cup per serving. So really it`s not much. I`ll check my container to be sure.

Prob looking at 250 cals per 1/4 cup. So I guess it depends on how many servings you have.

222 to be exact. And gives around 22 grams of fat. The sweet spot to get lean with some protein for my last 3 meals of the day.

I was just looking at walmart ( checking lables ) the brand that uses the big peanut with a top hat says 300 cals per 1/4 cup.

222 is your brand and can still be quit a bit of "extra" calories if your like myself and don't stop til the bag is almost gone.

They are an excellent source if controlled.

mac's and cashews are a little dangerous. brazil nuts, almonds and hazel nuts are a little safer for me.
