How to dispose of gear?

I have some gear that I will not use. I doubt I will use it ever again. How am I suppose to properly dispose of what I have? biohazard/sharps container? just toss it in the garbage? I don't think anything is really harmful but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

put the needles and pins in a sharps container and drop it off at the pharmacy. As for gear vials, you can just chuck those in the garbage. I always place mine in empty protein jugs and tape the top on. (i do this with anything glass)r

Most areas have needle exchange places. I put my pins, syringes, and empty vials in a protein tub and drop them off at the needle exchange.

For the OP....I would dump the contents down the sink and dispose of it as you would your needles. As a precaution, I peel the labels off the vials.

i think the water treatment plant, in your local city ot town will treat and remove any gear or any other meds you may dump and flush.

When it comes to water issues, it's not the 0.04%(probly less) of gear users(0.10% of total Canadians manbe) that dump it and flush it we have to worry about. It's that Big industrial smoke stack you can see from any point of your town or city, that has bought rights from our government to poor small amounts of concentrated waste over time into drains or landfills....or better yet, the farmer who sprays all the goodies to make his crops grow....thats the stuff you gotta worry about.

Just off on a different rant...lol..I'm not a tree hugger, I just work on alot of the sites with the big smoke stacks and I see how the waste gets removed from the site, and I live near a bunch of farmers, and get the smells every once and awhile...not complaining, just making a point.

Trust me the amount of chlorine they add along with floride and you drink it over your life time far out weights any thing that we take from our medicine cabinet and flush down the drain.
