Well since starting this diet I'm now a little plugged up. No fiber I suppose. I see Metamucil has maltodextrin in it as a filler. Is this going to mess up my diet?
On another note, I'm not sure if it's the diet or that I've been eating a lot of salmon lately, but is a strong smelling urine normal in this case? I'm going to up my water intake and see if that works.
thanks guys.

yeah I see, we have sugar free berry burst, 5g carbs and 0 sugars in 1 tsp. I suppose that won't kill me. Regular metamucil is a killer, it's mostly carbs and sugar!

I'm thinking you're right, this diet sucks....it definitely works if you follow it, but it sucks. I'm now convinced it's worse than quitting smoking! Oh well, 9 weeks to go! Keep plugging away!

I'm starting week 5 of 16. It will get worse before it gets better :)
I don't generally have a problem with hunger until I start doing 2 sessions of cardio but I find myself longing for anything with flavour.

I'm using the sugar free orange metamucil. I typically take 2 heaping tablespoons in one dose, once daily. Even then I still find I'm not having a bm every day :( The first 2 weeks were kinda brutal though with cramps and whatnot and going 4 days without taking a dump.
The urine smell is normal. My gf complains even afterwards that the bathroom still wreaks of my pee :D

maybe divide up the dosings into two or three, I found this helped me more than one bigger serving. after taking a dump when on keto you always feel like dancing cuz u feel so much lighter lol. :troll

I've asked this before and never got a straight answer, so I'll ask it again here...
Do carbs from fiber supplements such as psyllium husk or oat bran interfere with ketosis?
Psyllium husk , NO dont worry about it ( not sure about oat bran ). Pick it up at your local health food store.
Fibre does not count as carbs because they will not convert to energy. So they cancel out the carb count. E.I. Flax seeds @ 100g contains something like 28g of carbs , but 24g of fibre so the total is 4g of carbs used for energy . The numbers may be out a bit , but you get the point.
I've been using Fiberlyze by Species contains : Physilium Husk, Hemp Protein Powder, Wheat Bran, Sucralose, Acesulfame K, Natural & Artificial flavours. If I remember correct it is Palumbo's supplement company. This is by far the best product that I have used with 9.5g of fiber per serving. No sugar and tastes great.
If you want to save some money then just get PH and mix it in with your last shake of the day.

I find pellegrino (carbonated water) works just as well as diet pop and occasionally as a treat I'll squeeze a lemon wedge in it.
