View Full Version : Montrealers
Good morning.
I'm going to be in Montreal at the end of March. I haven't been to PQ for YEARS!
I'm only staying a weekend, but if you have any ideas on what to see, do, eat (I'm bulking, lol) then please post it up here!
Thanks! :)
Oh...I'll be right downtown.

Damn, there are tons of good places to eat and things to do. What do you like is probably the best question.
That's the problem! There is too much to do and with only one weekend it's hard to choose something. Maybe we'll just eat and shop.....LOL.
I am open to just about anything really. Sightseeing, etc. I found too many things online and I've decided that I will have to go back to do them all.

Where are you staying at?
Tons of places to eat but you need to get a real smoked meat sandwich from Schwartz, but if you like Poutin you should check out Patata Patiti. Both on the same street and close by each other.
It depends if you are into the night clubing deal, which you probably are not.
I do hear Super Sexe is popular with tourists
I have to check my info when I get home. I can't remember the hotel off the top of my head.
Yeah, I am usually in bed at 9pm, but I will stay up late that weekend, LOL.
Thanks, I'm going to print out the names of those places!
If it's true that Montreal bagels are the best, then I'm going to have to try that too :p

I will find out the exact location but it is going to most likely be up St. Laurent towards Outremont where lots of the Jews live.
Give me a day or two.
But why go for Bagels when you can get carbs through poutin?

Bagels is St-Viateur and Fairmount Bagels about a block away. I know fairmount is open all night. I've gone there now and then and pick up warm fresh bagels and eat them while driving around town.

Things not to miss in Montreal (according to me)
- Downtown underground shopping center(s)
- Nightlife (clubs)
- Late night eateries
- Good restaurants
- Noticably French only signs (though not something I personally am proud of)
Thanks guys! I appreciate it :) I'm writing all this down....

My friend said he thinks Fairmount is best. Is it up on St. Joseph and St. Laurent?
Hey Freeze forgive me for spelling it as "poutin" and not "poutine".... asshole. :D

i myself prefer fairmount too. It's just a walk in with a counter. It's open all night and they make fresh non stop. They have assorted types of bagels.

****, I'm an idiot. The Casino :D
In case you go and you are by car, be wary of speed traps along the stretch of road that leads to the casio. It's common cops are hidden there to collect an extra tax on your winning or to clear out the rest of the money you didn't lose in your wallet.

KLM, if you come to Montreal in June and July, it's full of events around town. Now it's a little more quiet but still very alive.
Thanks for the warning MP, LOL. I have no idea if we are renting a car or not.
Great info! Thanks!
I have some online friends that live near Montreal so I'm sure I'll be back. I will definitely be there for Nationals too. :)
