Hey guys I was wondering what your thoughts were on a natty doing a non tested show? I am going to do my first show in June and am going into it natural. What are your thoughts?

CC (on the board here) won her first show as natural against others that were not.
So, yes. It's possible. You'd better have some deadly genetics and a killer work ethic, though.

I'd say women are a bit different when it comes to men and being natty vs. non-natty.

Nah, if a woman juices, she has much more opportunity to maintain muscle mass opposed to men as they lack much test naturally.....And will gain much more in offseason as well......
So as AS stated, if you can have a killer work ethic you can get it done, but the folks on the juice will have a much greater advantage than the person Natural...Men or women.....No doubt about it......Anyone believing otherwise, is a bit loonie IMO...

We will have to agree to disagree on this then because I do feel there is a bit of a difference in what women can do without and still compete vs. what men can do without and still compete.
Local level shows is what I am talking about. Not National or IFBB Pro stages...

The problem is that every ass-hat that picks up a weight wants to be a BBer. The genetics and work ethic required to do well (not even to win) is not something that most possess and those that do will enhance that further with gear making them a dominating force getting most of the others on stage (and in the audience) to question why the **** they'd ever even considered doing something that they clearly weren't cut out for to begin with (breath).
So it is possible to make a good showing if you're "that guy".
"Are you that guy?" is the question you need to ask.

Didn't expect so many replies so quick. This site is awesome.
I will give you guys some back round on myself. I started getting very serious about my training a year ago and managed to turn a hobby into an obsession. I am now working with two very experienced and well know coaches, Both were pros, and have managed to bring me from 195lbs in sept to 226 lbs now and i am a munchkin at 5'6".

let me check... medium high lats, only one bicep that peaks, arms that look like toothpicks in a side chest shot. nope not me. If I can put another 2 inches on my arms I might be able to fake having biceps but the lats aren't really something you can fix

honestly...i'd like you guys all, and want to give you all big slobbery kisses, but i think the statement was blown out of proportion

To the orginal question:
It depends on the show. Every show i've done, I've done so as a natural. some shows I won, some I lost. Some were tested some were not. Keep in mind I was a lightweight at all of them. I've beaten people "on" and i've got beaten by people who were not "on".
Gender doesn't change my views, as it still depends on the show. If you are a girl, and happen to step on stage with a freak who is on, you'll lose. Same if you're a guy, and some future national competitor decides to show up and work through the ranks....
To be honest, every time I hear the question asked, the asker is usually looking for an excuse to either not compete, or an excuse to take something in order to compete. Not implying this is why you're asking - but people should remember that when you start competing, do it for yourself, not for a trophy. Actually, that can be said for a long ways into your competing days.

Thread cleaned up. Please don't attack competitors on the site. It's not a forum to take shots at women and men who step on stage and do the best they can with their bodies.

to the original poster... YES!!! you can compete naturally... you can even place as a natural athete!! We had a guy come in Natural, SUPER ripped and dry.. he beat a few guys who were juiced up... what you don't have in mass, try to make up for in conditioning! (however... sounds like your mass is pretty impressive from your height and weight)
to I think Nate, who said something like it's easier to compete as a natural woman against women on steroids... FAIL... mens bodybuilding at a provincial leverl you have... what 5 guys in a class? womens figures atheltes have (especially masters) sometimes over 20 competitors... if you're the natty chick agains 18 on juice... it isn't "easier"... believe me...
To CC and the other guy who called her out... I WON NOVICE AS THE ONLY COMPETITOR!!! lol... I placed 4th in the open round again 9 others... no matter... I've been to many shows where there were one or two guys on stage.. walking away with a trophy... nobody calls them on that... Plus CC DOES look great!...
OH, and Ms_Moneypenny only competed against another athlete the first time on a National stage in 2008. ... 2007 she won novice as the only competitor, 2008 she won provincials as the only competitor, and 2008 Nationals she placed 6th out of the 9 top female lightweight athletes in the country!! (ps as a natural competitor)
see... I brought that whole post full circle back were we started!! TADA!

Won't happen by the post you made. It'll only continue the attack defend routine.
I don't see anyone doing that.
Belittling an achievement is an attack. Though it might have been misunderstood, it's just easier to say "that's not what I meant" than putting fuel on the fire.

get your facts straight and learn to read. I said nothing about it being EASIER.
What the **** is it with some of you people from the West? Are you learning impaired or something?

I am not re-writing what I wrote that MP deleted for some reason as it was perfectly acceptable and called no one out.
But re-read the posts that are still on here and you'll read that I never said it was EASIER. I said it's sometimes less noticeable to tell who is a natural female competitor and who is an enhanced female competitor. The gap is a little closer than it is for men where it's *usually* quite obvious who uses and who doesn't on stage.
Ontario here. Double Major in Business and Mathematics from Western University. What do you have? Oh wait, right... bus driver.

Common sense as always MP....Nothing was misunderstood, and you are a gentleman for giving the benefit of doubt.....
Adding pics and statements are only to add fuel to the fire, that is all...Trying to insult the boards intelligence by saying i never meant that as an afterlude, is very immature and childish at best.....
Especially by someone that would never step on stage.....
I will never sit back and watch these things and be silent.........Sorry to those that cant understand this aspect of loyalty, its a rare commodity these days..:D

Mheh... Bus drivers in Manitoba live larger than double major university snobs out west anyway.
perhaps it's a little less obvious who is using and who isn't for women because most women are a little smarter than blindly shooting what some muscle headed ph-fricken-d down at the local goodlife told them to stick in themself!!
plus... even by your own arguement... wouldn't it then be harder for a Natty to place... if the "user" only has a bit of an edge over the natty?.. and "looks" natural.. just natural and a bit better....
+1 is still +1
whew... all that math without any university!

I actually have no idea what you are attempting to say. I'll register for a hooked on phonics course this weekend to see if I can begin to understand you.
You still seem to think I believe competing naturally is easier and again (as usual) you are incorrect. I was natural until 3 years ago so I know exactly what I speak of and KNOW it is not easy at all so you can take your lesbo, finger waving attitude and shove it up that filthy bus driving **little harsh and overboard don't you think nate??** of yours.
Have a good day.
P.S. I agree with you that Bus drivers in Manitoba live larger than double major university snobs out west anyway. Good thing I live in the East ;)
