They now carry wpc 80% and wpi 90-92%. the wpc is $5.49/lb. Seems to be same product as Vitalis Whey. Good so far.....and cheap.

all I see when I go is WPC 35% and WPI 90%, thought the 90% was more expensive though?

they don't have the 80% WPC here. It is the WPI and wpc 35% which is a bulk gainer concentrate. The amount of sodium in the wpc 35% is unreal. I used to buy whey powder 17% as a gainer. it had to have close to 2000 mg sodium per serving. saltier than a sea dog.

the amount of sodium in the WPC 35% probably is close to the same amount: unreal. i am not sure but I remember something about the salt being removed at the end of the process. so even if the sodium amount in the WPC 35 is less than the sodium amount in the WPC, the amount of sodium in WPC 35 at the BB is still rather high.

the nutrient breakdown doesn't reflect this though- however your taste buds will notice the difference.

so you will have to get used to the salty taste of the product or cover it up somehow.

the price for the wpi is about 22 per kg.
the price for the wpc 35% is about 11 per kg.

If it is marked wpc 80% then they are wrong or trying to mislead the customers who never question anything. unless your BB has something different than the others.

a couple of months ago when i was in there, they had the nutrient breakdown of the COFFEE CREAMER to be almost as good as the whey protein isolate. Especially the protein composition.

when i pointed this out to the somewhat obese lady working there, she just grunted and hobbled off. the next week, nothing had changed. I spoke to the anorectic old man working there and he just took off his glasses and cleaned them off with his shirt while mumbling something about looking into it.
the next week, nothing had changed.

I used to get my peanut butter up there as it was 5 50 per kilo. HOwever, presidents choice has a great buy on natural peanut butter : 1kg for 2.99 until the end of march. Since i eat ~200-300 grams of PB per day, this is a good buy.

the BB here carries PVL supplements.

Trust me on this. A lot of companies are using WPC 35 as their concentrate to keep the profits as high as they used to be. It's been said over and over again, if you aren't paying more for your protein now, you aren't getting what you think you are.

It's not a canadian thing either, this is all over the world.

I'll go back and double check my bb. I didn't buy any but the bin was empty. I buy from costco when they have the 10$ off sale.

That being said. What brands can we count on to be WPC 80?

Big companies that stand a lot to lose will usually put in decent protein. Bulk stuff is very risky as is unknown brands. Nothing to lose if someone realizes is wpc35. But a multi million dollar company wouldn't be dumb enough to risk it. They'd just jack the price and have you pay for the increase in protein. I'm not saying to go buy the most expensive protein out there either :) Just buy reputable companies and you should be ok.
