i'm kinda new at this... what do the terms "in" and "out" mean in reference to training? as in, 6 weeks out. you know..

6 weeks "out" is like a countdown...6 weeks left till showtime.

If their prep time was 12 weeks after 8 weeks they would be 8 weeks "in" and 4 weeks "out".
