View Full Version : When you can't press the plunger......

Take it as a hint, something's amiss..... lol

Man oh man.. tonight I stuck it in my right glute, a little lower than normal since the upper area is getting a bit sensitive. 2nd time doing this, 1st time no pain whatsoever so I thought I'd continue the trend for a while.

So I push it in, and proceed to press on the plunger... except it's not budging, not even a little bit. I'm now pressing as hard as I absolutely can and it's not moving at all! My hand's actually cramping up bad. I kept hearing a voice in my head, stop, take it out, switch the needle, clean a new area and try again. NO I retort, this ****ing thing is going in damnit!!

Ok, so finally after around 30 seconds of pressing as hard as I could, it finally started to move (meanwhile my hand is almost numb and I'm sweating profusely)... it gained momentum and finally worked it's way in, all the way in. So took my hand off the plunger as I normally do and let it sit a few seconds before pulling out... and I saw a couple drops of blood go into the tip. Uh-oh... I know what that means.

SHIT.

Pulled the needle out, wooosh!! A big ol gush of blood comes out and drips down my butt with a steady speed. I quickly grabbed the alcohol pad I had waiting and applied pressure. It soaked up the blood until it was red. Tore open a new pad and held it on there, applying decent pressure and massaged the area for a while. The area is now a little bruised.

Lesson learned, if it doesn't want to go in, try again/don't force it. :)

25g... never had a problem before, usually easy going in. wonder what could have choked it up like that.. obviously something to do with all the bleeding after, lol.

i switched to BD syringe instead of tarumo and like it better.

ive noticed BD barrels have bigger plastic tips so its easier for me to get levarage when pushing the plunger, but im partial to the terumo tips cause i can see through the sheath.

from the blood im thinking this didnt have to do with the brand or gauge and more to do with where he injected

x2, the poke feels all the same through the skin to me, unless it's an 18g :D

.....I've had the "blood squirt" situation before, haha

i would be worried about scar tissue with big needle?

I use a 23g for delts/quads and a 21guage for glutes. I have had blood squirt out once on a delt shot using a 23 gauge needle which means you went right through a vein more than likely.

i pull with 22 and shot with 25 i would not want to go any bigger..

You guys should quit acting like babies, really, not kidding 25g are used for infants in the "medical" "world" where there are "doctors", 23 gauge is for men, 25 gauge is for babies, there I said it. :tu

LOL... yea but by the time you hit 40 and your ass is filled with scar tissue from the larger gauges your opinion will change. I use a 25 gauge for less scar tissue it has nothing to do with pain for me.

Could of been some of the stopper got stuck in the pin, also injecting right into existing scar tissue makes it alot harder to push the plunger. I dont know if you practice this or not but I heat up my syringe under hot water for a while to thin the oil, it makes for a much easer injection.

The difference between the two is the thickness of a human hair, but the ease of injection is like night and day, if you are like myself and dont have a perfectly steady hand the fumbling and shaking will create more scar tissue, so thats why I use 23 gauge because I could inject quicker and easyier with less shaking, less fumbling, less damage, 25 gauge is for babies.;)

I jabbed with an 18 before for a week or so.
use a 22 regularly but have switched recently to 23.
I have 25's on hand for upper body jabs

25's for me, call me a pussy i don't care. i prefer a slow flow injection anyway, so i don't have a problem with them...

the blood is a nicked vein. but if you've been going into the same area for a lot of shots, maybe take a break for a few weeks. rotating sites is always a good idea.

No matter what amount of scar tissue you have the oil will leave the syringe. Had to have been a plugged pin, too small a pin, plunger stuck....I just can't see any amount of scar tissue being the cause. I would always push a small amount of oil out as a lube to help the pin through the skin and to be sure I didn't pick up some glass ( if shard went into the amp ). watch for small shards when breaking the top off an amp. if you draw with a small pin, there is less of a chance, but I draw with 18.

I was a long time TREN-er not EOD, it was ED for my tren with great results. Lots of scar tissue.

P.S. 23 all the way. 25=pussy

I push the air out, followed by a drop of oil so the plunger isn't stuck nor is there anything stuck in the needle. It's happened 3 or 4 times now.. dunno wtf is causing it, but holy hell is it ever aggravating.

I use 23ga for everything, tried 25 with Tren and couldn't even get it to draw...I suppose if you can get the gear to draw and inject at a relatively stable rate the smaller the better IMO.

Cold oil is hard to push through a 25

Mr Ontario

hence why its always best to heat it up and it also helps the oil dissipate quicker in the muscle. :)

25 is not all that much smaller than a 23. Think about this. Once the pin has broke the skin, it doesn't hurt any more right. Even with an 18...once she's in it's all good. Even a slin pin has the same pain, untill it's in.
Just my opinion.

If you start to use 23's you wont even remember the diff.
