OK so I live in a fourplex and so far I thought I had pretty good landlords, well was I ever wrong. Yesterday as I am taking out my trash there are these two "workers" in the backyard. One says "oh your home are you???"
Me" yea for now"
him" well we couldnt get in earlier because we had the wrong code to get the key"

Me:" wtf??? are you talking about"
him" oh _ _ _ _ never told you we were coming over to spry today???"
me:" nope never talked to him lately, never had to call for anything"
him" really?? are you sure???"
worker number two" are you sure?"
me" yep havent talk to him lately"
#1" so you dont have BED BUGS??"
me thinking WTF!!!!!!!!!! points to my dog"hes the only bed bug I have"

So needless to say landlord put wrong address on email, but its still at my house just the other half.

Fawk isnt a landlord by law to tell ALL tennets of a building when someone has BED BUGS???? I mean fawk I dont want to get them ever. So I, being a nice neighbour, told the people above me that hey next door, up and down were sprayed for bed bugs the other day.............................

FAWK ME I now have little to no respect for my landlords and if I get bed bugs, their ass is in court!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd move asap... I know it's a nightmare, but the horror stories of bedbugs are far worse.

Sucks to hear.

Um, yeah there should be a notice for ALL tenants when anything is being done to the building!

some landlords are unbelievable. they think because they own the place they can do whatever they want.

it's a huge problem in toronto... along with cockroaches, mice, etc.... ****ing slumlords still charge a fortune.

that was the #1 thing i looked out for before all else when looking for an apartment.. super paranoid about that, because not only does moving SUCK but it does cost money as well, have to pay another rent deposit, etc.

father in law does maintenance at a hotel
bed bugs have been found in a handful of the rooms, they don't tell anyone.
they haven't even had professional help to try and get rid of them, just some cans of raid and uneducated workers.
makes me wonder if i want to stay in hotels anymore as this is a well known hotel chain and this particular one is only a few years old.

go to the tenancy branch and tell them the problem. Have the entire four-plex sprayed a couple of times. All this can be billed to the landlord if he doesnt want to do it himself.

If you make the effort the tenancy laws are on your side. If your suite gets the bugs and you need a hotel room for a few weeks, guess who's paying, the slumlord.

hmmmm not spraying the whole building, its a older duplex made in to a four-plex. But he is coming to check out for repairs this weekend. going to ask about getting this side sprayed then.

you should read up on it so you can give the facts and back them up. The bugs will spread, especially if there are common areas, and just like fleas, the first spray wont take care of the infestation.

I'll advise you with this matter but only by PM. For obvious reasons.
