Some background: I've only "dieted" once in my life; 1 month about 6 years ago on what you could call CKD, just for a month and really more for shits and giggles than anything else (I only had a few pounds to trim, really.) It was hard at first, but...it worked. Kept muscle, trimmed fat.
Now I'm at a point where I pretty much feel I'm as big as I'm going to get, and I'm happy here. So now I want to really trim the fat - which makes you look bigger anyway!
So, please correct anything you see wrong here:
CKD:Minimal carbs (i.e. 30-50, mostly from vegetables ED) with about a 36 hrs carb-up, if possible - but not essential - with complex carbs every weekend. I've also seen a good amount of articles and posts stating that for heavy lifters (me) 30g complex carbs pre-w.o. and 30g simple carbs p.w.o. will NOT kick you out of ketosis, but allow enough replenishment of glycogen stores to ensure performance in the weight room doesn't suffer too much.
TKD:50 g complex carbs pre-w.o./50 g simple sugars p.w.o. and that is it. No "carb-up" just the 30-50 g of carbs from veggies etc...on non training days.
I'm leaning towards CKD.
Also is Waxy Maize a good idea here? It's a strange carb as it's complex, yet is supposed to be assimilated faster than glucose! (I have read some studies that seem to contradict that however.) If used, where? Pre or post w.o.? Both?
Any opinions welcomed! :fback
