hahahaha Dawn Young is the same as Dawn Alison
that was my 1st married name
but it's true when i competed in 1995-1999 i was Dawn Young
actually "Alison" is / was my middle name
when i divorced my sons dad i just dropped my last name
please note Alison has only 1 L
as the the Dawn Alison with 2 L's is a porn star
and that is not me lol

i married Powerlifting Legend Texan Doug Young was i was 24
he was 3 x world champion powerlifter
3 x world record holder in the bench press

i qualified for US Powerlifting Nationals my 1st meet in 1990
and won US Nationals my 2nd meet
my 3rd meet i pulled an unofficical world record deadlift of 501 lbs
then turned my focus to bodybuilding & hired Chris Aceto
as the reason i powerlifted was to put on as much mass as i could for bodybuilding
the marriage broke up and i moved back to Canada in 1993 from Texas

pic below is US Nationals 467 lb squat

Thanks for the info. It's hard for me to match names up when last names change. I will try to blend the profiles together to get 1 complete one.

No problemo it's hard to keep up with me
i was Dawn Howorth, Dawn Young, Dawn Sull & now Dawn Alison
when i got married last sept people said you gonna take Brandon's last name ?
i said "NOPE!"
lol not that i have anything against anyone calling me Mrs.Best
cuz i don't
its just i'm a little tired of changing my name
and cuz Alison was the middle name given to me at birth
i really didn't change it it was already mine
mind you it is legally changed to Dawn Alison

here's some pix of my 1st husband Powerlifting Legend Doug Young
he was the 1 who got me into the sport
he was a 3 x world champion Powerlifter
3 x world record holder in the Bench Press
he was the 1st person to bench press over 600 lbs weighing less than 300 lbs
his best was 611 3/4 lbs at bodywt of 275 in an IPF meet
he was also in the Guiness Book of World Records with his oldest brother 3 x offensive NFL lineman Bob Young for the 2 man deadlift
he also coached Bob to 2nd place in the strongest football player in the world strongman contest
Doug also coached the US world championship powerlifting team
RIP
he died a few years ago of a heart attack

Writer Terry Todd described him best in his book "Inside Powerlifting" as....
THE BIG STUDHORSE FROM TEXAS

i miss him, but am grateful for the time i spent with him
and how much he taught me about lifting, love & life
