I use an mp3 player but it's a big pain in the ass with the cord and all. It's too bad my gym plays elevator music.

yup have to!!

either shit music playing in the gym
or!
i hear people talking about the stoopidest shit!!

like the other day buddy was doing curls in the squat rack finished his set and after placing the bar back he lets out a "holy **** man!!" only to have his buddy dam near yell "see i told you trens the shit!!"

also having ear buds in helps keep interaction to a bare min and that way all you have to do is give the nod and smile

I can't train without my own music man they play bad music at my gym. Actually multiple older ladies have told me I was going to go deaf because my music was so loud. Better to go deaf than listen to the crap they play :P

If cords are a problem do what I did, get a set of bluetooth headsets, I got the Motorola ROKR, and use it with a bluetooth enabled MP3 player. If your MP# player does not have bluetooth there is a dongle you can buy to make it bluetooth compatible, but it adds bulk to the player.

I use the Motorola ROKR and my iphone on a belt clip on my lower back, never gets in the way unless I try and sit down.

I like to lift with my ipod but i don't let not having one get to me. Leg day they are a must! My gym plays good enough music most of the time.

Ya same with me i dont totally relay on it....But on leg day its almost mandatory and really helps with intensity..I remember a few weeks back i was doing legs and i pulled out my ipod at the start of the workout 30seconds later the battery dies..its such a bad feeling..plus when ur wearing headphones its a single for other people not to talk to u.

Used an ipod/discman for years, but my new gym playes decent music, and the conversation level is low and not stupid at all. Pleasantly surprised, I was...

My gym doesn't play any music and I find that listening to music really gets me pumped up to workout so I always bring my mp3 player. Plus, when I forget to bring it people like to talk to me which can get annoying.
