For the last couple of weeks my personal E-mail has been barraged by Viagra and rec drug spam from where I dont know. Could have possibly been recorded a while ago for a confromation E-mail to a site, that I could have thought of as being inocent.

Today I checked my Inbox and someone has tried to change my password twice in the last couple of days. My password didnt change. Should I be worried about this?

There is nothing incriminating about that account, but I sometimes have E-mails forwarded from my work account to it, and other personal uses, so I would really not like it to be F-ed with.

If you're getting spam now, you're likely to have had your email addy put into a database that gets sold and circulated. Annoying but manageable depending on who you have your email with. Most decent ones will catch the spam and redirect it to the spam box.

As for trying to be hacked, it's not common practice for spammers to do this. Unless of course they are trying to get to your contact list and spam those people too..lol

Standard procedure for passwords. Make them longer than 8 characters, include a symbol #$#@ etc if the password system allows you, a number and a capital letter. Change every few months. Watch where you use the email to sign up. Wherever you sign up, never use the same password as your email.
With that said, there are scripts on the net that run 24/7 that are just trying to hack any email, site login, etc. Brute force. For every 1000 that fail, they'll eventually get into 1. That is why it is important to change your passwords regularly.

Just changed it to a new password that should be very impossible lol. Guess I will just keep flagging the E-mails.

If you have a password reset question or alternate email to send reset instructions to also change those.

Ditto. Make them impossible to guess too.

As a rule I suggest using a different email address than your personal account for internet activities such as forums and the like. If the address goes sour move to another.
