Does anyone have any expertise with Ribose. I know that it is for replacing skeletal muscle stores reduced by exercise and is a carbon sugar. Will this spike insulin levels? Bad for my precontest diet. Going to use it for an energy supplement also supposed to be good for mood.

Any Advice?

I used it when it first came out by Biotest in it`s liquid form. Cost me a shit load and didn`t really notice much. It got discontinued for a reason... As far as mood performance, don`t know where you heard that, but it puts me in a bad mood to think I wasted $$$ on this stuff, lol...

Yeah haha, I got a load of the stuff from a guy I know how used to work at a health food store. Probably 800g. How did you supplement with it when you were using it? Is it better to take it at certain times? supplement creatine well?

This was a long time ago ( a good 10 years!) I`m pretty sure I followed standard pre and post workout dosing of whatever it was ( I`m guessing 2 grams each dose) the liquid suspension was touted being superior. If taking it in powder I`d take 5 grams each dose with your creatine. Let me know how that works for you.

Take up to 5 grams before or after a workout.

Usually D-Ribose is used for people with fibromyalgia or those low in energy from cancer treatment.

I have also heard that one person who was using it had taken some just before she went out with a group of friends. They went out partying and they all were drinking but she found that she hadn't gotten drunk like her friends. It seemed to have neutralized the alcohol.

Now don't go out and try it just because I posted this. It may not work for everyone.

Started to take it on Monday pre and post workout. 5g's a serving just like creatine which I started as well at the same dose. Getting good energy and vacularity. Strong through the workout, actually seem to get stronger as the workout progresses. Might be helping with creatine absorbtion?

Is that possible?
