This shit makes my blood boil. Why do fat/out of shape people hire these kids? I can't imagine taking fitness advice from someone I don't want to ever look like.

Every time I see a ****ing dipshit 'trainer' show a 300lb lady how to do bicep curls and shoulder presses I want to gag and barf on their ****ing floor. Yah i'm pretty sure the roadblock in that lady's fitness routine is weak biceps.

My favourite is the "bikini trainer". Yes, this 19 year old girl is a bikini competitor she is proud to tell her clients. Not the foggiest clue.

We've got one female trainer that seems at least not doing any harm to her middle age house wives. She's got them doing toned down versions of real exercises and she helps them with form and technique. Not great but sooo much better than the child trainers.

There are no weight lifters on the board or any of the committees at the Y's here so they are essentially running blind with young women and housewives in the lead.

As a trainer I will, regardless of weight or training experience, teach people the major compound movements and exercises for each body part. Why lose fat and then build muscle when you can do them both at the same time?

I agree with Dave on that..(weight lifting burns cals as well, in more ways than one)

I used to workout at a WHC in E-town Londondary side, 4 outa the 5 trainers used to ask me questions on certain exercises and how to do them etc., no biggie but I would expect a little more knowledge out of a personal trainer...imo

Agree but I've never seen this particular 300lb lady EVER step on a treadmill. She's forced to do random weight training that really is a waste of time for her. It's in really bad taste on the part of the trainer but then again showing the client the way to the treadmill doesn't require 3 sessions per week...

Who was it that said this Warlock? ' I wouldn't take advice from a bankrupt accountant why would I listen to an out of shape personal trainer? '
