I always see videos of bodybuilders wearing hoodies in the gym.
Is there any logic to this or is some kind of wierd fashion thing?

I sometimes wear one while I'm warming up, plus I always see bodybuilders in videos doing it.

I have started wearing one in my gym and I take it off when I start sweating. The only reason I wear one is because its ****ing freezing outside and I dont wanna leave my under armor winter jacket in the locker room.

It's for looks. Unless the gym's cold.. then it's for warmth.

I know some friends who juice and play university football wear them when bulking in order to hide the weight.

I use it too to stay a bit warmer when warming up or keeping my head warm when leaving the gym all wet..

Just annoys me when benching or doing french press.. can be a bit in the way

LOL

i cant understand how women are ALWAYS cold, yet can wear spandex nothingness to the gym and big guys, who are ALWAYS hot wear sweatshirts and pants!

I think they're hiding the goodies!

ps... if your sweatshirt is all about MMA and you can't bench at least 2 plates... women laugh at you! ;)

Your guys gym must be freezing cold if you can stand lifting in a hoodie. By the time i get a couple of plates on the bar I am sweating.

No way could I wear a sweater I would be boiling! Tanktop for me, sometimes a tshirt but no way a sweatshirt.

I think they train outside in the snow.

Seriously, I dunno how anyone could stand to train in a sweatshirt... I keep my room fairly cool and I train in a wife beater... I'm sweating like crazy in that. I think I'd pass out from heat exhaustion if I wore a hoody.

I have a buddy who trains all year round in a hoodie. But this is the same guy that runs tren only cycles so there is something to be said about his intelligence.

lol. Ditto. I also tend to wonder if they're expecting cops to come looking to arrest them and their hoody will keep them concealed from discovery.

I wear a hoody so I can cover my bald head walking in and out of the gym, and then I take it off after I begin to sweat. Carry it around until I am done, and then wear it home.

Its a jacket essentially. These guys who wear hoodies for a fashion statement are fags

It`s one of the biggest fashion items in a long time. The kids were wearing them this summer when it was 30 degree`s. They also wear them in the -30 degree weather. Make your own conclusions, lol...

I wear a hoodie pretty much year round. They don't heat the gym very well in the winter and they blast the A/C in the summer. I like to sweat and stay hot while I work out so I usually rock a hoodie or a sweatshirt.

i find it really helps me when i train chest and shoulders. as the body parts stay warm.
i have so many injuries on those 2 body parts i will do anything to be able to train them. even when its plus 30 outside and the gyum is a oven i still have a hoodie or a sweater on.

too u saskatchewan people, a bunny hug is a hoodie.
lol

i wear one all year and don't care what people think.
I feel comfortable in it. And i like to put my hood up to help me from being distracted, plus i never really cut so this helps me sweat more.

Except when they lie down on the bench and need a deadlift spot to get 225lbs...real bad!

I wear one whilst training and doing cardio.

Baggy sweatshirt and baggy pants. Winter or summer. I don't give a shit and it sure as hell ain't to for fashion or to look badass. Comfort and keeping warm is important to me.

Can't wear anything except a t-shirt/shorts in the gym. It's cold but my shirt is always soaked 10-15mins into my trainning. Back day is worst.

A lot of the younger crowd were them at my gym.its been in fashion with the high school crowd for 10 years, now its the black patterned white ones. The hip hop music movement and gang mentality media broadcasted influenced a lot of young people over the years.
The problem I have is now try to go buy a sweat crewneck shirt nowadays without a hood.Almost impossiable. So i just keep wearing my vintage 90,s bodybuilding contest imbossed sweatshirts which are pretty worn now but shows the youngins how old school vintage I am.LOL

I wear one in the winter and usually keep it on for the entire workout. I like sweating during the workout. I find in the summer I sweat about the same with shorts and a t-shirt.

Hoodies are only cool if they say TAPOUT all over it. Then people will fear you cause they think your a badass fighter and your sponsered by tapout.

Amazing, it`s rediculously cold here in Montreal and I still see kids walking around in hoodies! Meanwhile I have 3 coats on, a tuque with 2 hoods, long john`s, boots and 2 pairs of socks on...
