Thinking of adding waxy maize into my daily intake and wondering the best time to be taking it and also the benefits of the supplement?

^^ agree.

waxy maize = giant waste of money

eat some fruit, or use dextrose. post workout is the general rule when supplementing with a carb for transportation.

Take your WM post workout.

Mix it with your protein and creatine ( if taking ).

I love fruit but the fructose is stored in the liver rather then a transport to glycogen. Dextrose ftw. :)

Beat me to it bro!

Doesn't produce the same insulin response as dextrose or waxy maize either.

Yes , but fruit is also good post workout as your liver does need to be restored if you've worked out hard enough.

So a good mix works well ( pineapple and rice cakes )

I dont think the insulin spike is as important as the carb replenishment. Dextrose is also void of any nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.

Fruit FTW.

Hated waxy maize, stuff tastes/smells like ass and it really makes your shake thick.

I just use maltodextrin or potato starch

Other than being chalky and if left in water ( after mixing ) for awhile it settles at the bottom like a cement I don't think it tastes too bad as you can get flavored stuff , as for the smell I didn't think it had one.

IDS makes some great stuff - 5lbs for about $30 CAD

Talo dude, you should know by now, not to post links to other vendors of products. Or if you do, at leat post a place that`s cheaper than truesupplements... There you could get 5lbs for less, you`ll be paying in Canadian funds, plus you`ll get free shipping...

waxy maize is suposed to be good if you are in ketosis and don't want to be knocked out. Not too sure because when I do ketosis I follow the BODY OPUS, and only do 10g to 15g of carbs a day. But when just training without cutting fruit or dex with my creatine.

Too the point I guess.

I use and have waxy maize, don't really like it, and find it hard to mix into a shake. Also tastes bad, maybe too sweet.

pure waxy maize is not water soluble...that's probably why you find it hard to mix with your shake...however, if you mix it it will suspend in shakes.

QFT. I never really noticed much of anything from supplementing w/ waxy maize pre or post workout.
