Greeting all,
At 45, 325lbs at 5’11’’, diagnosed with Cadiomyopathy, advanced OA, high blood pressure 150/90, high cholesterol and depression. At 51, decided to join local gym. Started using only lightest weight possible to get accustom to movements. After a year and half, had to change gym twice due to lack of heavy dumbbells and 45’s plate. I’m now 280 at 15 % bf, 60 inch chest, 38 inch waist, 18 inch biceps, and massive 30 inches thighs. Bp is now 110/70. No AAS. Isolate whey protein, glutamine, creatine monohydrate, huge amount of cod liver oil, fish oil, vitamin C, garlic extract, and omega 3. Balls to wall training every other day – hack machine 12 plates, leg press 30 plates…

I still deal with OA, pain and depression but at least now I have something to look forward to. People at the gym think I'm from outer space...

Moral of story – everything possible…just believe.

This is a typical back work out for me…
Bent over rows (reverse grip) up to 315 for 12 reps x 4 set

Dead lift - up to 400 for 12 reps x 6 set

T-bar - up to 270 for 12 reps x 4 set

Dumbbell rows - up to 160 for 12 reps x 4 set

Machines pull down - up to 250 for 12 reps x 4 set

Cable rows - up to 300 for 12 reps x 4 set

Did 405 on squat (parallel) for 24 reps yesterday. 1200 on leg press for 24 reps, 600 on hack machine for 20 reps and 190 on leg curls for 20 reps. Had slight knees and left hip pain next day…I guess as Ronnie Coleman says “What days did I not have an injury or pain”…”

NO PAIN NO GAIN….:a+

Anyone here with arthritis? What anti inflammatory meds are you taking for joints pain? Does anti inflammatory interferes with muscle growth?

I’m on Celebrex (NSAIDs) (once a day) and Tylenol every four hour when needed.
