My computer is straight ****ed. It was running fine now all of a sudden I get hit with these fake anti virus things telling me my computer is infected and to purchase their software. And my computer is totally shutdown. I can't run my real anti-virus it won't let me. I can't surf the net cause it won't let internet explorer run.

Everytime I close down the fake anti virus things another one pops up I can't stop it. I just keep getting hammered with them it won't stop.

I get thiis message when I try and run my real anti virus which is AVG:
Application cannot be executed. The file wltuser.exe is infected.

I have no idea what step to take next. :help

P.S I wrote this on my sisters comp not mine.It won't let me access my CBB either:(

adaware will usually get rid of that crap.
try starting up in safe mode with networking on.

No luck. Started up in safe mode ran the adaware, 2 critical files got rid of them. Started up normally and it still messed. Slightly better no pop ups but can't access the internet and still getting the fake anti-virus.

Now what? Start up in safe mode again and run the real antivirus?

Superantispyware and Malwarebites Bro. You need to get them both, start in safe mode and run em. If they can't fix it you'll need to reformat. I'm sure they'll get rid of that crap though.

i had the exact same thing, i even bought a new edition of norton, but it wouldnt let it load, even trying to boot of the norton disk didnt work... my laptop was only worth 500 bucks so i just tossed it and bought a new one for 600.. by the time you pay someone to look at it its not worth it.. time to upgrade!!

^^
free solution VV

safe-mode with network support
malwarebytes, a-squarred, spybot, spyware terminator (update before scanning)

reboot again in safe mode with network
NOD32 online scan
http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
Bitdefender online scan
http://www.bitdefender.com/scanner/online/free.html
Onecare scan
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-za/default.htm?mkt=en-za

highly suggested : buying NOD32 antivirus (not the NOD32 security)

Oh I never pay anyone to fix computers. If I can't fix it myself I chuck it. It's on it's last leg anyway but I still don't want to buy a new one yet.

YES! it's fixed! Malwarebytes fixed it. Thanks guys. I still don't even know how it happened. I haven't downloaded anything in a while. I was just surfing some websites and within 10 seconds my whole computer was screwed.

easy solution, create a new user and just transfer the files over. delete the old user account.

this worked the last two times I've had issues.

This was the first time this ever happened to me. But I'll keep it in mind incase it happens again.

I went through the same hell you did a few times, reboot, scan, reboot, scan, continue rebooting and scanning until all my hair fell out. I just know that the new user method is easier. Gets you up and running in moments.

The first thing these virus' do is to change your account to a non admin account and remove the rights so you can't install anything. If nothing can clean it, a simple reformat will always work.

But try a bunch of antivirus' first. If you can install it.

AVG is totally useless in stopping this.
Norton and McAffee arent much better.
I've had this mofo on all of my computers.

After getting rid of it with malwarebytes,
one thing to do to help keep it from coming
back is to BLOCK these Antivirus System PRO sites:

antivirsystem.com
inetavirus.com
antivirwin2009.com
antivir2009pro.com
antivirussys2009.com
scan-spyware-now.com
itsecure.microsoft.com
antispy.microsoft.com
oemantivir.microsoft.com
osadwarekill.microsoft.com
osadwarekill.com
osawarepro.com
virusermoverpro.com
awareremover.com
antivir-platinum.com
antivirplatinum.com
antivirplatinum.microsoft.com
windows-shield.com
winshield2009.com
os-guard.com
os-guard.microsoft.com
winguard2009.microsoft.com
win-guard2009.microsoft.com
direct-antivirus.com
winwarepro.microsoft.com
osawarepro2009.microsoft.com
awareremover2009.microsoft.com

Block sites in Windows by going to Control Panel,
Internet Options, Security tab, Restricted Sites,
click Sites button, then add the web addresses.
Or something like that. Firefox is a good program
if you ever get sick of windows IE.

Reformat will work but...these days you REALLY dont need to, just change the users. windows operates more like unix these days, with heavy restrictions on OS interactions with normal user accounts.

Try out some new version of anti-virus that can treat those viruses. Actually it is considered as virus some internet absorbed virus that usually from the internet world. If all anti-virus will not affect that virus, reformatting is the only way to remove that virus.

If you can get onto the internet with your computer, go to www.eset.com, a free online scanner. My buddy just had this happen, he used that website and problems are fixed. You may want to run a registry fix program and an antispyware program as well.
