DVD's- I'm lost

ok I've been trying to figure this out all day so please bare with me.

background:

-got a rapidshare account so downloaded some movies
-want to watch them on a tv instead of a 14 inch monitor
-tried some of these downloadable convert to dvd programs. They all let me get halfway through then say "pay me bitch". And I don't really want to pay 40 bucks just because I don't want to if that makes sense?

Then I see that I should look into a torrentz program of sorts? Ok to be honest guys I have no idea how the hell to work with those torrentz things. I've tried before and I just hate computers.

I'm so lost it's unbelievable lol. Can someone tell me of a link or something to download a free full program to convert AVI, MPeg-4 etc. to DVD's (none of that trial shit that doesn't work)?

And hell if someone told me of a good torrentz program and how to use it I'd be extremely grateful!

if you have the full nero version, you can burn using nero express -> burn video CD/DVD. It should read in most dvd players

If the file is avi, mpeg..etc just burn them to a data DVD/CD with CDBurnerXP. No need to convert and you'll get more out of a DVD/CD.

Go to Walmart and pick up a cheap DVD player (about $30).

You will be good to go.

download utorrent so you can open torrents with it. i.e. from btjunkie.org

or sumotorrent.

but make sure before you download torrent, that you check for health. the most green the better. as well stay away from exe files. they will hurt your computer.
