Any fish tank / aquarium owners ?

I just bought a 125 gallon tank. Originally wanted to go with a salt water setup (because the reefs/coral and marine fish look so bloody cool) but considering that I've never owned an aquarium before and have no idea what I am doing, I think I am going to start with a fresh water setup. Any other enthusiasts on here? If so any tips would be helpful, thanks.

I got a 70g with a 9" gold diamond rhom and a 10g with red cherry shrimps right now.

I got a 70g with a 9" gold diamond rhom and a 10g with red cherry shrimps right now.I am not sure yet, trying to research fish compatibility. My girl loves angelfish and I like neon tetras. Don't know how that'll work though

I used to have fish tanks years ago. Angelfish get quite big and are rather aggressive but they didn't seem to bother my tetras much. Didn't kill any anyway. You've got a big tank so they should be fine. Just don't get any of those red-tailed sharks. They are extremely aggressive and will batter the hell out of the tetras just for the fun of it.
