Just bought 2 new comps, one for me and one for my wife. Same specs on both comps. Mine locks up and is slow as **** and hers is what we expected.
Any ideas?

If they are new machines call tech support. They will probably just walk you through a reinstall of all the software the computer was shipped with. Once that is done go to http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/download download and run this. This should get rid of most if not all the bloatware new computers ship with.

Good advice. Also if you were using one running on battery, and the other plugged into the wall, the one on battery will run significantly slower due to power management default settings.

I will download that and give it a shot.

Both plugged in.

came with norton antivirus ? Yes and I uninstalled on both comps as soon as we got them and installed Kaspersky. Same things have been done to both comps.
Thanks Guys.

If you have Windows 7 you can check your memory by following these instructions
* Click the Windows 7 Start button, type memory, and click on Windows Memory Diagnostic
* When the Windows Memory Diagnostic screen loads, click Restart now and check for problems
* Your computer will restart
* The memory diagnostic will run and may take some time
* Windows will restart and report any errors to you

Thanks man, said everything is fine.... so not sure where to go from here.
I am sure not liking the Windows 7. Don't like the lay out or how some of the things work. Would like to go back to XP for sure.
