Ive never gone tanning what do I ask for?

Ive never been tanning but Im whiter then snow.... So I figure why not try it out. Do you need that tanning lotion stuff as well? Or is that just something they try to sell you? Whats the difference between all these beds they have?

You'll want a low intensity bed and probably 5 minutes max. The tanning lotions do help especially ones w/ a good bronzer. Sadly...the more expensive ones generally work better. (I'm one mutation away from albino so I share your pain).

Or just wink at the girl behind the counter and ask if she can help you set the bed up. :handsome

What about the spray on stuff. That would be good for you white boys:D Then you don't have to worry about burning. Anyone have experience with that?

It washes off in a few days. I guess it could help you tan a bit but that would be an expensive way of going about things.

Edit: Nevermind. I know what you mean. Mystic tans and stuff like that work great if you just want a tan for a specific occasion.

Ya I'm just saying it could be a good option for the pasty white guys. There's a place by me 25 bucks for the whole body they claim it last 7 days or longer if you moisturize. It actually dyes your skin. Seems like a safer alternative unless you like skin cancer.

I misunderstood initially. It is a good way to go. For me I know I can't tan. Months of going 3-4x/wk will get me a little bit of colour but nothing great. SS does airbrush tanning for bodybuilding shows, I'm sure he knows a lot more about it. I've only done the mystic tans a few times. They don't last 7 days on me but it depends how much you shower and/or sweat.

you could always try melatonan.. you will still have to tan and there are few other effects ( some desirable and some less desirable ones...google it).
Having that said, its probably the way to go for someone very white since it will be hard to get a good tan going for some skin types

( do your homework if you decide to look into it)

See how you turn out 5-6 hours later.

Up that to 8 minutes per week.

Whats the difference between stand up and lay down? More powerful or something?

power depends on the cost of the bed and the quality of the lights (ie. how often are they replaced), not whether its stand up or laying down

i prefer stand up, holding the bars jacks up my arms, while laying down makes sweat pool under my lower back

you should try both and see what you prefer as far as comfort

Some lying down beds may be better than stand ups, all depending on the freshness of the bulbs and the specs of them. Standing will always give you a better tan as your inner arms, arm pits and crack of your ass won`t get that butterfly effect from lying. Look at pics of the Ulitmate Warrior from back in the day and you will see how the lying down beds miss alot of spots...

To me the best aspect of standing is the fact (even though they`re "cleaned" before each use) is that you`re not lying is someone else`s ass and ball sweat who was there before. And as you may have read, lot`s of guys, even guys I know, tend to jerk off in the lying down beds... Up to you to decide which is best...

Oh yeah... At one point you will most likely begin to use tanning lotions and accelerators. Yeah they work, but you can buy them much cheaper online, like a fraction of the cost. I used to pay up to $110 for a bottle of accelerator! (shakes head...) Also very important is to always put some lotion on your whole body when you come out of the shower to keep the skin hydrated. That`s one of the most important factors in keeping your color.

my girlfriend works at a day spa and they have a very good quality spray tanner, and I swear it looks exactly like a real, she's not orange at all, and it lasts for a few weeks at least!

Scars? scar tissue won't tan so it stays white.

I had something like that once after a vacation in the sun.

It was some kinda bacteria or fungus that results in white spots, which looks really messed up. I suggest going to a doc.
I got some kinda medical lotion that I had to rub on my body for a week after showering and prior to bed.

Nothing serious, but those spots wont go away by itself if you have what I had

I once heard applying anti fungus shampoo like nizoral can get rid of the spots. But you have to leave it on your skin for a long time before rinsing it off. The exact time I forget, maybe somebody else can chime in here.
