I like both. But I know I`d never take the responsibility of walking a dog 3 times a day. Especially on rainy or other bad weather situations. If I would get a dog it would be a pug because they usually don`t need to be walked too much and they`re just so cute!

Cats are nice as they require little care. You can leave them for days by themselves, but are a little too independant for my liking. When they get older they settle down more and seem to appreciate your company more. I`ve always wanted a scotish fold (the one`s with the ears that look glued to their heads)

If I were a millionaire, I`d have my own petting zoo, I love animals!

A 185 lb great dane that shits like a tyranosaurus rex, and 2 cats....
Great danes are fairly low energy dogs, we walk him 3 times/day.....430am is his first one.....
Very large dog he is, its unreal how much people love these gentle giants, he has a crowd anytime hes outside a store in our truckbox.....Or walking around people, is very time consuming......
But hes awesome....
Ive only had a german shepherds growing up, very hi energy, loyal smart dogs.......
Cats have cool characters, i like just watching them, they seem to always be scheming something....lil weasels i call them here....lol

I have one of both, a fat cat who is about 20lbs(shhhh dont call him fat) lol and a 84lbs Lab,rottie, dobi, shep cross. I love both, mind you all the cat runs the house lol. So funny watching a big dog run from a lill old cat lol. I know how you feel IW and CC about having a crowd when you out with your dog. My guy loves people and kids most of all, so we tend to have to stop, smell or say hi to everyone on the street. Mind ya he scares the kids cause all they see is a big blk lab looking thing running to them, lol, with me yelling "its OK he is nice" lol

Dogs all the way. I live in the country and let them run free. I have left my one dog for a couple days on its own without issue. I spent a lot of time training him. He is gold. The other one is a border collie pup I got the wife for Christmas. Currently she is 11 weeks old. The jury is still out on this one.

i really hope you keep your dog on a leash. honestly, if a dog charged at my niece, wouldnt really matter what the owner was yelling, i would repeatedly introduce my size 11.5 tims to its snout.

Wish I had the room for a dog. Some day.. at least with dogs if you want to go away for a week you can still manage to. Kids, not so much..

My future children hopefully

I love some dogs, but I'm very sensitive to smells and lets face it some dogs stink, regardless of how many times a week you bathe them. I'm also kinda lazy and wouldn't walk and play with him/her as frequently as they need.

I'm a cat guy. Grew up with Persians. I have a red Himalayan and we absolutely adore each other. He's by far the best cat I've known. Huge personality, great communicator, very playful even at 9 years old, still plays like a kitten. Very affectionate, and the girls fall in love with him. It's also a prerequisite for prospects, they must be a cat person too.

I like both. My cat is a himalayan / blue-point siamese mix. He's a real intelligent ****er. Follows me around like a dog around the house, and he's real vocal too. Actually communicates back to you when you ask him what he wants.

I used to have a syberian husky. Had her for 5 years. Loved this dog to death. Here's a pic of her when she was a pup:

Holy crap! Major cuteness alert.
Cats all the way for me, although I totally understand why people love dogs...Just not my thing.

They both have their fascinating ways and I especially get a kick out of seeing a dog and cat hanging out together. The truth is though, no other creature can measure up to a canine when it comes to character...including people. Maybe it's just me but I've never met a human being who was as consistently, tirelessly and unconditionally loving and caring as a dog. They are forgiving and loyal and affectionate and never carry a grudge. They are committed to one thing...pleasing you and making you the center of their world. Your dog will work hard for you and never, ever judge you. Your dog is devoted to you in ways unmatched by anything or anyone. How many people do you know who are so devoted to you and so excited to see you that they wait at the front door for you to come home so they can greet you? :lick:lick I'm not talking here about just on certain days but EVERY day! A dog will never get tired of seeing you or being with you and will never stay mad at you. What other living creature on the planet lives to please you? For all that... your dog will only ever ask one thing of you in return. Your approval. That's quite a deal.

PS. I don't want to offend anyone, but I would never trust anyone who does not like dogs.
