Ok so im looking for a new routine focusing strictly on strength and moving more weight in my compound lifts, im talking squat, deadlift, bench, military press. Hopefully this will add some size as well. I was thinkin:

monday&friday:Squat 1 warm up set 3 working sets 4-6 reps
Bench 1 warm up set 3 working sets 4-6 reps
deadlift 1 warm up set 3 working sets 4-6 reps
standing military press 1 warm up set 3 working sets 4-6 reps
barbell row 1 warm up set 3 working sets 4-6 reps

wednesday: clean up day
bi's, tri's, core, front and side raises, chin ups, calves

tue&thur 45 min cardio on bike ( is this needed?)

Im just throwing this out there, any thoughts? maybe i need a trainer...If you have any good strength routines post em up!! I will also be starting my first cycle very soon if that makes a diffrence..

or what about focusing on one lift a day? like this
monday-squat
tuesday-bench
wednesday-clean
thursday-deadlift
friday-military press

set 1, 2 and 3 would be 5 reps
set 4=4 reps
set 5= 3 reps
set 6= 2 reps

each set would pogresively get heavier up o a 2 rep max, when the 2 rep max is reached it is upped the following week 5 lbs until that 2 rep max is reached and so on and so on...

ok ive been doing a lot of reading, had a friend recomend it, going with the 5 3 1 program by jim wendler.. any thoughts on this? is training 4 days a week enough, i know i have a tendency to overtrain so i think this will be good for me.

I'm not familair with 5 3 1, looking for the book now though, but 4 days a week is plenty... I do the 5x5, 3 days a week and after loading for 4 weeks i'm beat.

5/3/1 is a great way to build strength without always training at weights >90% of a 1rm.
Sometimes it is very taxing on the CNS and I am looking forward to a few weeks of body building type training.

If not Wendler's routine do a West Side BB program. Lots of info on it
