Anyone have experience with the 1mhz Ultrasound therapy units and do they work?

Not sure what size it was but when I had pitchers elbow, I had it done. It loved every second I had with the ultrasound machine. It relieved a lot of the swelling I found, and felt amazing while they were doing it.
I personally do think they work. Although I was doing stretching and other exercises to help in the process. And the physiotherapist was doing other things as well...

I ordered a portable unit online. Not sure how it'll compare to the expensive ones they use in clinics, but I hope it will be effective. I ordered some conductive gel that has menthol in it.

I had a chiro who used to use that machine on my for my sciatic pain. Didn`t work, but it may need daily use to reap the benefits. Where did you buy that machine?

When I was getting it done with my physiotherapist I did it 3 times a week and I found it worked. Maybe because yours was a larger area where mine was just the outside of my elbow and top of my forearm.
I am really interested to see how this one work for you kloan. Keep me posted. Also would like to know where you got it (off ebay)?

Yep, off eBay.. it was only $40 shipped. It had the same ratings as the expensive ones I saw on this other website, that were going for $250.. probably all have the same innards anyway I figure (all made in China).
I'll keep everyone posted. It should be here in a few days.

Only $40? Shit, even $240 for a more expensive one is not that bad. I may look into this. Keep us posted Kloan, this has my interest big time.

Received today.
Smaller than I thought it'd be.. a bit awkward using it, but should be ok. The menthol cream feels funny.
Will use it a few times then post an update.

I've only used it twice... been kinda lazy. It seemed to provide a bit of temporary relief. However my neck still seems outta whack.. might be too deep to hit.

How do you think it compares to a machine you may see in a good clinic? I had no clue you could buy these portable units. Our trainer held my body together in junior football with ultrasound and electro stim thermapy...

Not sure, I've never seen or had one used on me before.
Alright Ritch, I was feeling restless and my neck was hurting, so I decided to try this thing out again tonight. Slathered on some of the menthol cream and held my neck in a position that hurt, and tried to keep it there as I was using the device.
I did actually notice some relief after a few minutes, and right now about 15 mins later there is less pain and discomfort as there was before.
So, I'd say for $40 this thing is worth checking out if you have some muscle/joint pains that are chronic. It might help to give you some temporary relief. Combined with your Dr. Ho pads, it might be a good combination of the two.

I had a physiotherapist using ultrasound on me for several months and my take away from that was it was essentially useless. Ice, massage, and compression on the other hand were and are nothing short of miraculous.

Several months.. can't argue with that.
I think there's some things a device like this, or even in a therapists office that can't help and my neck and shoulder definitely seems like one of them (uh err two I guess umm).
Seems to work for temporary relief, and like I said might be more effective in minor aches and pains or strains that are closer to the surface.
Actually, I didn't say that.. though I intimated it in an earlier post. :)
