I want to get a job at a gym in Windsor this summer. How should i go about this? Lull times for employment? Do they prefer to hire members or non-members? Besides PT whats a decent job to shoot for?

i did sale's for premier ftness ,great money ...stupid ,budget, horrible company ,pay was always late sometimes almost 3 weeks late ,they treat there members like crap, take out more money/dubble payments all the time and members usually had to wait atleast 5-6 months to get a refund ...i worked there for a year then left ,so i guess it just depends on the company but over all i loved working in a gym but not for the company i was with ...

Well you're going to have to change your way of training to doing squats on a Bosuball and deadlifts with rubber bands (remember functional training) LMAO
Seriously though, get a certification and most clubs don't usually like to employ higher profile members.
BTW, the pay in Windsor for gym employees suck.

i dont care too much about money. but min is $10/h soon so i can pay the rent on my student appt with that easy, i just want the benifits of lifting b4 and after my shift lol
I used to manage a gym in Kitchener called Platinum fitness back in the late 90s, I'm sure things have changed dramatically now. My job was to bring in money and take as much shit from people as on could possible stand. I think I would have made better money selling suits. There were a multitude of female perks that went with it with it though. Though I think probably more by workings in a bar.

cool stuff, the majority of staff at the gym i goto are lazy ****s that just read sports illustrate behind a desk and look up to check your card, kinda thought the manager or owner would like someone to earn their paycheck

Leigh works at a "gym". It's kinda different than most gyms though... they don't sell memeberships, there is a waiting list to be taken on as a client and it's all very personalized training for your sport. She has a degree in Kineseology, is a cerfified strenth and conditioning coach, a certified Athletic therapist and currently Ms Manitoba. (my point isn't to brag... it's that to exclusive jobs, generally take a fair bit of education and "credit" within the industry)
She trains between the morning and afternoon rush, and around her rehap patients. We often go to the City Facilities to lift, just so she can actually get out of "work" for a while... sometimes lifting where you work, between answering phone and returning emails, isn't the best case scenario.
