I've seen videos of a few pro's doing this. Putting Mac Nut oil in their protien shakes. What exactly does it do? Slow digestion? Extra cals and fats? Can I use olive oil?

I think it is a good idea. Protein+fat is more anabolic then protein alone. Where in nature can you find concentrated protein without fat? When given protein only the body is like wtf? I eat plenty of fat with my protein except pre or intra workout shakes.

I saw a study once where whole milk was compared to skim and it was much more anabolic. The researchers thought it might have been the extra calories from the fat so they doubled the skim milk serving to compensate and tested again. The whole milk was still slightly better even though it had half the protein.

Just an easy way to get a healthy fat in you and control the digestion of your protein. I don't personally mix it in, then i'm stuck with a whole shake that tastes like dogshit.. instead just gulp a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and chase it with some shake

I`ve tried olive oil and it`s beyond disgusting. Shit burns as it goes down. Have no idea how you guys do it...

I once gave a tablespoon of flax to my brother in law and he damn near coughed it out! Funny stuff...

I do that all the time as well as straight up.Its an old bodybuilder trick when you are on a low carb diet.MCT OIL.it is not stored as fat and is used direct as an energy source. It is also a thermagenic for burning excess fat.Was all the rage in the early 80,s.
Old habits that work die hard.

Most supplement stores sell MCT, it stands for medium chain triglycerides (sp?). I used to take it a long time ago.

Just be careful if you start using MCT for the first time.Start with a teaspoon to start with.THats a TEASPOON!not a tablespoon. If you take too much to start with ,without letting your body to adjust to it,you will get intestinal cramps or diarrea at worst.Over acouple weeks of using it everyday you can work up to a tablespon or two.
Sometimes I take a tablespoon right before i go workout as the energy from it lasts long term.Works really wellin keeping your stanima up when on a low carb diet for those lenghthy workouts.

From what I remember, MCTs are viewed/digested similarly to carbs by the body, and shouldn't be consumed on a keto diet

Get some Organic Coconut oil Awesome in a shake, on toast in place of butter, or all by its self composed predominately of MCT does not burn on the way down or on the way Out J
