My girlfriend needs a new Winter Jacket pretty bad. She's been eyeing up the one she wants. She said she can only afford it herself next year, (she just started her new career two weeks ago, so first pay cheque is for gifts for everyone else.

Anyhow, I plan to buy her the jacket today but don't know if I should give it to her today or wait till Xmas Day. Only ten days to go but it's getting pretty cold right now. She also takes the bus to work.

So ... people what do you recommend. Give it to her today or wait for Xmas Day.

Thanks in advance.

It depends on a few factors as girls are ****ed when it comes to receiving presents. So I will ask you a two questions:

1) Are you getting her just the jacket...If yes then wait until Christmas because she will be disappointed that she doesn't get something, if you are getting her more shit then give it to her now...But wrap it up!

2) If she is semi normal and you know she won't cry about not getting anything from you on Christmas than give it to her now because it is useful.

1) I'm getting her few other little gifts. I always do.

2) Well it'll take a lot to make this girl cry. She's not an emotional wreck like others I know. Not the typical girl. However she does love xmas.

I would give her the coat then now and wrap it up. Especially if she has a shitty coat you could be preventing her from getting a cold.

Wrap it up and give it to her now. Tell her you gave it to her now because you cared too much to wait.

I'd say give it to her now and just confide that there won't be anything as awesome to open on Christmas. But get her some sort of stocking stuffers though, just so there's something to pass along.

I'm not materialistic or anything but it's just nice. Christmas is a bastardized holiday unfortunately so I just put the flaws aside and let myself enjoy it. It's not all about gift-giving, but oh well. My family likes to give gifts. We all just bought houses so now we're all broke, and even though we agreed to not do gifts we're all getting each other something small. It just doesn't feel the same unless you have something to open.

Alright, so I bought the jacket. I have it hanging in the closet in the spare bedroom. The closet is covered in wrapping paper.

Now, under the tree there is a gift wrapped up with one of her stuffed animals. The stuffed animal has a message saying it "threw the gift in the laundry basket". In the laundry basket , there's another one of her stuffed animal saying it "stuck it in the shower downstairs". In the shower down stairs another stuffed animals says it "moved it to the attic" , finally the last stuffed animal says it "placed it in the closet down stairs".

I just plan to get her running around the house. It should be entertaining. Now off to Jiu Jitsu, when I get back, she should be home from work.

The adventure has been set.

Wow, she really loved it. I got some tears coming out of her eyes.

She was already home when I got back, told her she could have an early xmas present. She was hesistant at first, since it's not really xmas yet. Finally she gave in and started opening it. She found the first stuffed animal and looked at me, "Why do you have to always play games?" . It's true, I always do. She than started the hunt going up and down the stairs following the clues. When she got to the downstairs closet, she carefully tore the wrapping paper from it, peaked inside and was like "no...NO,...you didn't .....you did but.....OMG " than the water works started. "Thank you Thank you Thank you.

I do have some stocking stuffers for her to open up on Xmas day. So all is good.
