Halladay is going to Philly
Lee is going to Seattle
Prospects + are going to Toronto

Something tells me this new GM has ****ed this trade up even worse that JP could have. I hope the Jays are getting more than just prospects who MIGHT be good major leaguers.

I'm an Orioles fan, so I'm impartial...but still...best pitcher of the decade for strictly prospects?! WEAAAAAAK!

Hey its still not done yet. One prospect has apparently failed their physical and nothing has been announced or completed. Theres still hope to keep Halladay and then go on to pick up some heavy hitters and HOPE Halladay see's theres potential to resign after this season

halladay signed a 3 year deal last night with the phillies. its done with.

once again toronto trades a excellent player and gets shit in return. They look like the Leafs. lol

going to be a long season in T.O. I would expect to see other vets jump ship now too.

Its not as bad as you might think though.... d'Arnaud and Taylor are going to be very good hopefully and are both heavy hitters. As far as the pitcher, I dont like young pitchers...

But the Jays HAD to do this, it was either sell everything or sign 2 or 3 guys and pray that Halladay re-signs (which would be unlikely either way). I personally like the trade, although now the Mariners are going to win the world series Lee and Hernandez will be unstoppable.

I just bought my 12 game ticket pack for mariners, including a yankees and Bosox game.

They signed Chone Figgens too which will help get people moving around the bases. One more big bat is needed and they'll be a legit power. That (Hernandez/Lee 1-2 punch could be the best in baseball.)

I've tried to be optimistic for the last 15 years, but Toronto is just a major league farm team now developing talent for other teams.
It takes a lot of luck and skill to develop enough young players at the same time to make a run like Florida or Oakland.... Develop them till you can't afford them lol.
Hard to compete against teams with payrolls 4x higher.

This is whats happened in Tampa Bay, wait until some of their young guys like Longoria and Bartlett have to resign

I'm thinking about getting some Mariners tickets too. I noticed they have a gift pack 4 tickets for $116 .... Sounds like a great deal.

just remember...erik bedard was supposed to take them to the next level...and erik bedard might end up back in baltimore.

i loved that trade back then and I love it more now...see, once in a while it's nice to be an o's fan! haha

you likely know this by now, but the jays traded taylor to the A's for wallace. The jays drafted wallace in 2005 (i think) but he didn't sign, and now they got their man. Not sure why they did it though, as most (including myself) see Taylor as the superior prospect.
