alrighty then... almost 8 weeks into my insane growing diet and I am a little insecure about the results. I KNOW I can cut for my show. I KNOW I am getting stronger (lifting heavier)... and I KNOW it's all about one day and I will look my best on that day.
I have been eating between 3600 and 4800 calories a day, hardly any cardio (except gymnastics and minimal warm ups on the bike) and am holding at about 125 pounds pretty steady!
my pants feel tight in the thigh but not the waist, my shirts are tight through the back and not in the belly and I tried on a designer Betsey Johnson dress and I couldn't move my arms because my biceps wanted to bust out of the short sleeved cuffs! (all good things except for the dress... because it was on SALE!! damnit!)

anyway, I have like 12 more weeks of "massing" bulking, growing... whatever... and I have been feeling REALLY huge... and it seems nobody else can see any difference yet! :S

sooo (please be nice it's off season)... critique me!

noticed weight gain in the thighs and sides of lower back, but u are eating more calories than i eat and im a 250 6'2 guy so im surprised u dont look fatter, u must have a crazy metabolism, dont worry about ur weight gain, ur payoff is in your weekly strength gains, remember muscle is hard to put on, fat is relatively easy to lose

It gets frustrating when you can FEEL the muscles under there... but can't see them popping!

how can someone you're size even eat 4000 calories per day for more than a week straight without vomiting a few times (or putting on 5 pound per week). curious about what you are eating in a day.

(in no particular order)
yogurt, peanutbutter,cream of wheat, 7 scoops of protein, 4 cups rice, 10 oz beef, 8 oz chicken, chick peas,corn, spinach, a couple bananas, cheese, potatoes, a couple whole eggs, a whackload of nuts (some days a cup, usually half a cup) dextrose pre workout and I am taking glutamine 3X a day... and yes..I am full ALL the time! I start work at 5 am and start eating at 5am and usually finish my meals at 9pm.

but for real... do I look any BIGGER? (not fatter... just like BIGGER)

Yeah you're getting bigger but it hasn't been long enough offseason to put on any significant mass...coming off dieting you'll refill any depleted glycogen stores and bring with it 3 times the weight in water. So in reality your lean body mass is much more than before. But new muscle? maybe a couple pounds at most.

In any case like the other guys here who posted i'm lucky to get that amount of cals in consistently now in my offseason...congrats.

Keep at it, you'll kick butt.

Im 6 months off from my last contest! I was trying to get bigger, trying to get bigger... wasn't gaining any weight... which is how I ended up on this insane diet in hopes of putting some beef on!LOL... uurrgh

I'll be happy if I end up with 3 pounds weight gain after I lean out again! 5 would be nice!!

I can't believe the calories you are packing back. I thought I had a fast metabolism.

I am also having trouble telling a huge difference. I think the different angle and lighting is part of the problem. You do look a bit softer but a lot of that could be water. Every time I go on a bulking diet I look way softer due to the water but as soon as I cut the carbs for a few days most of the bloat goes away.

Wow..I never knew a 125lb woman could eat so much!!Loll.But you can tell your biceps have gotten bigger.You added a bit of fat to your thighs,but its hardly noticable.Thats part of the game in this sport

You look GREAT and all this eating and hard work will definatley payoff later.

By the way,are you taking any supplements?Are you natural?You dont have to answer if you dont want to i was just curious how much a woman your size would be taking:)

I finally broke 230 last week and my only advice is don't look. Pictures are great at showing conditioning but generally useless for showing muscularity (mine look horrid but I've added a lot of strength and hopefully 10 pounds of muscle), focus on the strength and enjoy the food.

The truth is you can't see the muscle under the fat and things will get squigy but that's the price we pay. I'm sure people will get on the lean growth mantra on you but I personally can't imagine being able to put on significant muscle without also putting on some fat to go with it.

I get to stop eating on new year's woo hoo!! Enjoy the eating while you can.

so, I have to get my BF% done on Friday... it's the same method and the same person doing the measurements as when I started bulking... I am weighing about 9 pounds more, and I was at 12.9 (I think) % BF last test which was the end of september...

so... I guess it's time to see if this is paying off... kinda... Im HOPING to not have a huge increase in BF%, but the weight increase... I think that would translate into more mass!!.. right?... more lean muscle anyway..

well... I'll update on Friday or when I get my BF% results... or I might jump off a bridge if it's REAL ugly!.. if I do... nice knowing y'all!
(just joking... im not suicidal.. really... just a little chunky... )

I'm sure it will go fine. If you are up 9 pounds then you should have gained a decent amount of muscle.

ok.. so the official weigh in I am actually only 5 pounds up in weight, and 0.2% increase in Bodyfat... so I guess when all is said and done... I have a muscle increase of about 4 pounds!... I'm VERY happy about this!!

Interesting comment. How much cardio do they have you doing? I went cardio free this last season and while I'm sure it wasn't a terribly good idea from a fitness perspective it did seem to make putting on weight a little easier.

I have ALOT of food... and 1 hour a day cardio...
the theory is, I need the food to build the muscle, but the cardio to burn fat before it gets stored... Im not too sure how much differnce there is between the trainig I have to do for fitness and what someone would have to do for bodybuilding.. but my goals this year are to CLEARLY make improvements as far as physique goes over the other competitors... so... right now I'm doing weights 5X a week, cardio daily and gymanstics 1X a week and LOTS of stretching.

Did I mention I hate you. How long have you been working up to that level of work capacity? I'm fairly sure that kind of volume would crush me in fairly short order.

In my twenties I might have been able to keep up but certainly not grow. You must be eating constantly.

How many years have you been training fitness?

I've been training for fitness for 1.5 years (aprox) my first (and second) show was last year. Since I am significanly older than most of the other competitors, and neither a dancer, cheerleader or gymnast, I kinda feel like I have ALOT of ground to make up to even be in the game! lol (Im 38)

and yeah.. Im pretty much eating all the time.. wake up at 5am... get in a meal, go to work, another snack before hitting the gym, then workout, then eat, usually play a little computer, then nap or shower or chores, then eat, then back to work, and eat while driving, then come home for some tv and cardio and another meal before bed!

starting in 2 weeks I add fitness routine practice 1X a week (1 hour) and yoga to the training program...

actually I never did gymnastics in my life! lol.. I started taking an adult gymnastics class about 5 months ago... I've learned ALOT!!! this year added to my routine will be a perfect one handed cartwheel, a front handspring, that craxy front to butt flip and a pretty lousy handstand! lol... and whatever other tricks I can learn in the next 10 weeks! (10 weeks is all the time I'll give myself to learning new tricks,, then it just becomes a matter of perfecting the routine after that!)

I could use some of Your Moves Maria!! lol...

Hey those skills are still good!! If you lived closer I could teach you! I was a gymnastics coach for quite a while before I got into bodybuilding and then personal training. I also worked with another fitness competitor and taught her a standing back tuck. The coach she use to have had no knowledge of technique when it came to learning skills so I had to fix a lot of her stuff. She was learning a full twist! Keep working on the flexibility because that will really help!!

I am sick of being chubby and more than ready to start dietting this shit down!
uurrgghhhh 15 weeks until comp... all the novice girls are like 7 weeks out and getting skinny and Im still ,STILL, STILL bulking...
my jeans don't fit. My arse is popping out of them
My shirts are too tight, I've cut the sleeves off them and look like a tool.
I have been living in sweat pants and Pajamas for 2 weeks (oh and my uniform for work, whioch is still too big on me... so that's good at least)
I'm HOT all the time... like I swear I thought I was in menopause or something with the hot flashes... except for my feet which are freezing..
I'm "bulking" but lost my cheat meals because of some Novice bitches cheating on thier diets.. so he took cheat meals away from EVERYONE and I really want a Garden burger from stellas and a piece of toast!

I believe I am finally standing on the ledge...

This too shall pass. I felt like that at 250 the year before last. I would turn red getting up out of the chair. This year @ 235 I stopped at the point of "this sucks ass". If I was smart I would have stopped @ 230 as the last 5 pounds were almost pure fat. It sounds like yours has been productive though so focus on the positive. Once you start cleaning up you'll be bigger and stronger than last year.

... A garden burger from stella's sounds pretty good right about now. I'm ready for some carbs. Wife is taking me to the restauraunt in assiniboine park on sunday for valentine's so I'm waiting 2 extra days for my cheat meal this week.

OK.. so I got my diet cut a bit from aprox 4000 calories to aprox 3200 a few weeks back, and dropped about 3 pounds... now I've just got another drop in food today (aprox 2600 calories) and new program... so I'm expecting to start shedding some of this Winter Weight soon!!

still feeling very strong... very full, lots of energy.. 14 weeks left!

so 13 weeks today... this past week has been pretty average... I had some food cut, and dropped 5 pounds... so he's scared i lean out too quick and added some carbs back for a few weeks... mmmm banana.. lol.. Im happy with the gains over this winter to my legs... they don't exactly look like toothpicks any more, and my ass... well, this year I have one, so that's kinda cool... My arms are bigger, just stupid fitness posing you can't really tell, and I know Ive gotten overall a bit "thicker" (I know from how my clothes fit)... it's just tough to see big changes because I'm still pretty small.

I have decided I need a tan... It hides the old lady skin!.. so I'm going to try fake and bake, even though my Dr told me not to. I have my routine music cut , and choreography in place... going to try a runthrough of the routine this monday... My posing suit is sewn, just have to glue on a few hundred more rinestones... so yeah, things are comming together...

today's weight, 124 pounds, should comepete at around 118 (I hope) was 113 last year

I do an hour cardio a day and gymnastics once a week... I'm down 8 pounds from my crazy winter "bulk"...now I have a manageable diet..

ok.. 12 weeks out... well, 11 weeks and 6 days, it's been a GREAT week! I got new programs, switched up a bunch of excercises and came back to a bunch of stuff I havent done in a few months.. and holy crap! Have I noticed a difference in the weight I can do!... way heavier (well... "way" heavier is 10-25 pounds for the most part... but hey, every bit counts)

I think my biggest gains have been in my shoulders lately... I'm feeling very good about my physique right now... I've put back on a couple of the pounds I dropped a couple weeks ago (coach wants me to hold it longer) and I feel right on track!

he gave me a cheat day today... he told me to "Go Nuts"... so my last kick at the cat... (maybe) so far I've had coffee, with milk and sugar... a chocolate chip bagel with peanutbutter, a banana.. and it isn't even 7am! lol... planning on birthday cake later (was my daughter's 17th b-day this week and Leigh's "Masters" birthday.. lol she's 35 now!) and for some reason I want a cheeseburger, but not a crappy fast food one, like a super greasy burger place one... maybe Dairy Whip or super boys or something...

Heading to the gym in about an hour.. Cleans, squats, bench, pushpress... READY!!!

posing this morning went well... My trainer says we are an airplane flying around the sky jsut waiting for landing... so, in order to not get to lean... another cheat day today.. he says to aim for 5000 claories.. uurrgghh... I just want Skinny time!! lol

decent week, I tried fake and bake tanning this week... burned my boobs.. nobody warned me about boob tanning sensitiviy... still lifting pretty heavy, he says I might be able to smack a bit more size on my shoulders yet... so Ive had some crazy shoulder workouts, and actually hit an all time personal best with a pushpress!! (125 pounds!! whoo hoo)

pulled my glute a bit at gymnastics but I feel like it is on the mend... about the biggest change this week is the addition of flax seed oil to my diet, and the insane need to use the can because of it!!

whoo hoo... next weeks update will be only 10 weeks out!

10 WEEKS!!!

well Mabba novice is one week out, and we have 4 girls competing and I am TOTALLY riding on thier pre contest excitement this week!! It's been a good week watching them make huge daily changes! one girl has lost over 40 pounds in a year (she was originally a rehab client)... and I am so excited to see them all up there!!... however, watching them all skinny on out, makes me a little jealous, lol...oh well 9 more weeks and I'll be where they are today!

I don't have a cheat this weekend. I kinda like that. It makes me feel like I'm getting closer. I dropped a few pounds this week, sitting at 123 pounds, still lifting heavy and feeling strong... good energy... no big changes, just a little tightening overall. I can see the weight loss mostly in my face.

My cardio is going up this week in intensity a bit, and next week I start serious routine practicing a couple times a week as well as increasing gymnastics to 2X a week... which I'm excited about! I'm not excited about a shange in my work schedule which will see me having to get up at 5am instead of 5:30 am.. but whatever, afternoon naps in the tanning machine are good too!!

Positive attitude about the upcomming week!

Alrighty then... so 8 weeks until showtime!! and I am ready to GO!! Still feeling strong, dropping weight VERY slow and easy... lots of food still, just with an increase in activity, it's slowly comming off... I hope that translates into a nice easy prep!! lol... I have about 10 pounds to lose, but am not actively "trying" to drop weight yet... so I'm feeling on track.

With the holiday this weekend, I had to go to the YMCA to work out as Elite was closed... it was pretty fun! a nice change of environment! Sometimes that's good for the soul (and ego).. lol I was putting away my dumbells and walked past two guys and one of them said "Holy F#*% that chick is ripped to shit" :)... made me feel pretty good! (and YEAH he was talking about me because I was the only girl in the area)

3 weeks without a cheat. I grabbed a protein bar today for a little mini treat/cheat... Posing with my coach on Monday.. we'll see what he says...

Gymnastics is going good... my routine is comming along... I've given myself 3 weeks to master a front handspring into a one handed cartwheel and immediately into a shushnova to a one handed push up... and if I don't get it in 3 weeks... back to the drawing board on that portion of the routine.

Leigh took these pics about 3 hours ago... I should have pumped up and taken a pee first.. lol whatever... here's the progress

ok so 7 weeks... and the focus has shifted... how it's ROUTINE ROUTINE ROUTINE!!! It's kinda cool in Winnipeg, we have an adult fitness gymnastics program, so i get to do gymnastics 2 X a week with other girls who are competing or who have competed in the past... you would think that working with your competition isn't a very good idea, however, it really works! and the oddest thing is... everyone is very supportive and helpful to the other competitors!... It sort of goes against EVERYTHING that is normal for women to exhibit in a competitive setting lol...

I'm totally on track physique wise and confident with the changes I've made this year... I KNOW I'll make top 5 in the physique portion of the event (too bad that only counts for 1/3 of the mark lol)

New diet this week... Brown rice and eggwhites are my new favorite food! (a little nutmeg and cinnimon and a sprinkle of splenda and you have a giant weird pancake thinggy... not bad!!) AND.. I get a nice cheat meal tonight.. so all in all... life is good!

until Next week!!! To Infinity and beyond!! ;)

5 weeks and 6 days!!
well, after my "week off" which wasnt really a week off, just a little bit of a forced rest from overtraining, I am feeling GREAT!! Im a little behind on my routine... I just am having a hard time getting getting the moves down pat with shoes on.. who would think that adding a pair of shoes can throw your moves off?? (Have been practicing barefoot all winter)
Diet and programming to change monday... im bang on right now where nI should be.. just feeling anxious to get up there and DO IT!!!

I did something cool this week though!! I was asked to be in a PR video for my gym!! they wanted some girls for the womens training program who look close to contest ready and can lift heavy.. and video'd us working out... and I BENCHED PLATES!!!! lol... 2 whole reps unassisted!! lol.. but considering I weigh 118 pounds right now , benching 135 was pretty dang good!

just a little less than 5 weeks and im a little anxious. i leaned out too quick and have been on a fat/carb load for 10 days... im up 3 pounds and feeling soft..but super FULL and lots of energy. My coach is pleased with where i am, says i am going to hit my peak at the right time now, not 3 weeks early, but its still frustrating.. like hitting the pause button on a movie because your girlfriend has to go pee then realise she went to flipping safeway to pee or something.

the COOLEST thing to happen this week has to be the changes Leigh has made!! she's training for Nationals... and this past month she has been thickening out like CRAZY!!!!.. She might even make middle weight this year!!

34 days for me... 110 for Leigh!!

27 days left until Provincials... I have an updated picture, but my computer crashed like 3 weeks ago and we STILL dont have it back.. so ive been trying to exist between facebook mobile on myu phone and my daughters little teenie tiny netbook, but im so blind i can hardly see the screen. (ill try to get her to post it up)

Once again, I was smashed in the head by my trainer. I am mentally all prepared to just give 'er these last four weeks and get on that stage... and instead, I had on my diet plan yesterday, pizza, desert and appitizers... he said I have to fill up a bit.. I dont get it.. but I did it and NOW hopefully, ill be ready for skinny time. If it were up to me I'd hit the stage as conditioned as a bodybuilder!! (however lacking a few things.. like all the muscle)... and my brain knows how hard it is for me to hold onto muscle, so my brain understands the logic behind it... but I'm just SOOOOO ready to get there and show what i've done and rock my routine and be a superstar for a day!! Leigh says Im impatient, I guess i kinda am.. I think I just have to change my mindset to a more.. "enjoy each day" approach...

ok.. Only 8 more gymnastic classes till the big show!!.. less than 20 Lifts till I do my thing... Only 50 hours cardio left!!! lol.. hmmm.. that didn't help.

Other exciting news.. I GOT A PUPPY!!!!! but she's still a baby so i have to WAIT (damned impatience again) until she is a little bigger until we get her! 3 weeks until Puppy time!!

3 weeks out! last week I decided to pull a muscle... hip flexor, it sucked, luckily, Leigh is an athletic therapist, so Im feeling good now. I got a cheat last weekend, and sunday I started "dietting".. today I posed and tomorrow, I get more food... lol.. I guess I lean out quickly!

Im really just excited and ready to go do this! My routine is all worked out, choreography is done, music done, costume done... I really have nothing left to do except make it through the next 3 weeks, lift smart, and keep practicing my routine! Im a little miffed about the competition... there was a few girls I know who were planning on competing, and they backed out for various reasons... I just really wanted to stand up against some of the girls who beat me last year so I can fairly judge myself as far as gains and weaknesses, but that's cool... i think it will still be a good competition and alot of fun!

Be careful with the hip flexor. You don't want to be all knotted up on game day. Limping during a routine is probably considered bad form. I remember going to a karate competition with a pulled groin muscle. It didn't work out to well. Happily I mostly got kicked in the stomach by small women and children so it didn't hurt very much but it's kind of tough to be graceful if you can't get your feet off the ground.

Wow, fitness is represented well out that way!!! You even have masters fitness??? We are lucky to have 1 or 2 girls in fitness at our provincials. There is usually only 1 class. It use to be bigger but with the inclusion of junior fitness maybe it will grow again.

Will they have masters fitness at nationals or is that only at the provincial level for you?

Ive kinda got 118 in my head for a weight. I KNOW I can lean out way more, but my trainer doesn't want me hitting the stage too hard... overall, provincial fitness has a softer look and he doesn't want me standing out as being too lean, dry or hard. (kinda sucks, I wanna try leaning out just to see what I look like!)

118 would be good too because last year I weighed 113.5, so in my mind, that would be a great lean muscle gain for a year!

Mens overall.. Im not sure who all is competing... Is Ryan Malo? that Zylstra monster is a favorite to win... I guess it depends who else shows up... but those two names come to mind! Chris Lowden always looks good, but Im not sure if he is competing either. He gets CRAZY conditioning!.. (I am focused on the BIG guys.. lol.. watch some welterweight win lol)

womens overall... I'm putting my money On Amber Palyshnyn! for bodybuilding and Melanie Flavo for figures.

I reserve judgement on fitness! ;)

I am absolutely DYING for a steak!.. that's right, the former vegetarian is not craving carbs at all... but a giant slab of half cooked juicy meat!, (ya know... it sounds so sexual when I put it that way!)

don't worry about your weight. I know its under your goal weight - but as I've mentioned before, it is not realistic to put on 5 pounds naturally in a year at your height/weight. It's all about improving the look, not the weight. Once can be the same weight, or lighter, (even at the same condition) yet look much better.

Soo.... I just got back from weigh in... 7 women bb in heavyweight!! that's awesome!! maybe womens BB is becomming more popular!

one downer, I am in masters and open class... there are only 5 fitness chicks all together... and 3 of us are masters... kinda sucks.. because I have to do my routine in masters class AND open class... so there isn't much recovery time in there!

and the BIGGEST news of the evening... I weighed in at 117.6 on the official scale!!! sooooooo I gained 4 pounds in a year!! and am sitting a little leaner I think... Im very pleased with that... hopefully a pound of that is in my shoulders! lol

LOTS of people backstage commented on my improved physique.. so thats good!.. my masters class has a woman who has competed for 15 years and another who has been competing for 6 years.. so im the rookie in the bunch... but i feel good... its out of my hands now anyway lol... i just have to pose one more time for points, then do my routine for fun!
since im in 2 classes, i had to do my routine 2 times... that was tough! pretty much within 10 minutes of each other too... Im hopeing the similarity between the other routines will make mine "stand out" in a good way!

anyway... im about 7 hours away from getting something besidesrice and egg whites to eat and really looking forward to it!!..well i just want a jello shooter! HAHA

New Countdown!!.. 10 weeks till Nationals! and i have a plan of attack!! Im pushing hard to put a little more size up top...delts, lats, traps.. and want to hit the stage a bit harder, with a tighter ham glute tie in!! Im working with IBBF pro Janie kieth to try and improve my routine a bit... I don't think im a serious contender for a pro card or anything lol.. but id like to give my best and not come in last place LOL.. shooting for a middle of the pack finish.. top 5 would be amazing.. even though I plan on training to WIN.. im realistic enough to know my skills in gymnastics are quite weak...

training feels good... diet is 100% spot on.. ready to do this!!

9 weeks out from Nationals!
this is a weird one.. im not really losing my focus or anything.. im just feeling frustrated with other people. I KNOW this is an independant sport and all.. but i enlisted the help of a few people to make improvements between provincials and nationals and it seems like a few of them jammed on me! i still have gymnastics once a week, but lost my second rehursal a week, and i KNOW my routine is my weakest point. I injured my right wrist and my left shoulder, and both re slowing down not only my training but my gymnastics as well. My main support and motivator is on a different shift than i am, and we havent been training together. My girl is on her own journey to BB Nationals and 7 weeks out, so her dietting is different than mine, and she preps differently also... plus, she really has a shot at doing well, so im kinda trying to keep the focus on her Nationals and sorta putting mine second... My kid is leaving in 2 days for the whole summer to go on the road and my new puppy keeps eating all my furniture!

it feels like a beer on a patio kinda day... but ill be heading to gymnastics in about 20 minutes, then to the gym to do my lift...

taking the good days with the bad!

(oh and my computer is still busted, so im on begged borrowed and stolen internet for at least another 2 weeks.. uurrgghh i miss my online support network too!)

Your routine isn't going to be better if you are broken in 9 weeks. Not sure where your coach is on this one but you might consider cutting your routine practice in half and giving yourself some serious recovery time.

Your routine was pretty much perfectly executed at the provincials. It was as good as your current skill level could support. The women who beat you had routines that were technically harder - they were full blown gymnasts/dancers

If you bring your hamstrings in a little tighter and execute your routine as well as you did in the provincials then I think you will have done as much as you can this year.

That's just my opinion of course but it may exactly the right time for several tonic water with lime on the patio kinda days.

Chat with your coach and don't be scared to give yourself recovery time. You've been in contest shape a looooooong time now.

life in our house is getting weird!
we prep very differently menatally... i am an extrovert! I share my pain and misery with everyone around me! lol... Leigh keeps everyting inside.. doesn't talk much in the final stages... likes to suffer alone... needless to say, I have taken to talking to the dog, alternatind by leigh taking the dog on long silent walks to get away from me!! lol

I feel like training is good.. been to DR about injuries and am managing them, made a few tweaks to routine... really starting to get excited for the experience!

Leigh is gonna do great! Im more excited for her show than mine!

Cheat day tomorrow... might be the last one. I told my coach I want to change my conditioning a bit,, cut up the legs... I dont care if thats what judges want... its what I want and how I want to present myself!
All my injures are under control, things are moving exactly as I had hoped!

Leigh looks crazy! Grapevine says there are 8 women in middleweight and 5 in light. (10 in heavy)... I know she wont be a heavy, but will be wobbling between middle and light. If she makkes light she'll be top end.. I guess time will tell.

Im pretty sure we found a photographer! That makes me happy!

I started dieting (well eating like a beast) and training for this year, in June of last year. and that was after only a few weeks off. I didnt get a "set diet" until September, but I feel like I need a bit of time off. The funny thing is I dont crave any "bad" food... I know when im off my diet I wont eat enough... I just am feeling a little , I dunno, anti-social maybe. Its weird how much eating has become a social thing. I find my mentality to food isn't about how it tastes, or looks, but how it will fuel my body. I think I need to just really enjoy a GOOD meal.. lol maybe sushi tomorrow.. sushi always makes me happy!

My kid is gone for the whole summer. Ill be seeing her in toronto for my competition. She is working the Carnival this summer! Truth be told.. I miss her alot.

The Puppy is fitting in nicely. Cardio is way more fun dragging a cute puppy behind ya! 15 weeks old! ate half the house, pissed all over the other half...

I got a half a cup of blueberries added to my regular diet... Blueberries clean ya out better than broccoli.

that's all Ive got this week...

OH NO!! I forgot I got cast in a movie! I have to go shoot it tonight at the legislature bldg! I got cast in it because the producer was looking for a "Strong Attractive Woman" and an assistant to him took my bus and noticed me driving and started talking to me, and I guess around the ill fitting uniform could tell I was in decent shape, so she set an appt with the producer the next day and he cast me for a small role! I have to bring running shoes and high heels... sounds kinky! lol

best mentality ever. Especially considering the judges will like cut up legs no matter what they say. It beats soft legs any day...Yes, some women have the genetics to hold their fat well, and actually have a nice shape to their legs even when "fatter"...but that is the minority. Most will look their best lean and dehydrated.

4 Weeks Till Nationals!!!!
I am currenly HUGE! My trainer put me on a fat load... I am fat and LOADED right now!... I figure if there is any last ditch effort to gain any size... it's been the last two weeks! Ive been using that food energy to FULL advantage and hit some personal bests! Im feel Very strong!!.. but (like I said) full.. fat, and not ready for a national competition!. My cardio is UP... my workouts are HUGE and my gymnastics coach just had a baby a week ago and I have nowhere to train routine... so, some High's... Some Lows! lol.

this weekend Im working on turning my provincial posing suit into a national posing suit... (I figure spending 50 bucks on gemstones is bettert than spending 4 or 5 hundred on a new suit)
Got hotel rooms booked for both saskatoon and toronto.
got flight To toronto... no flight home yet..
Getting car tuned up and oil changed and AIR PRESSURE IN TIRES checked next week! (last year we blew a tire on the highway to Vancouver)
Leigh's suit done... Photo shoot lined up... tickets for the show in sakatoon purchased... need to secure tics for toronto show...

I would HIGHLY suggest to anyone in the future, if you have a spouse training and you are training... plan seperate events with months between them!... this together thing is hard.. especially 2 weeks apart!..
but I digress...

Next year... ive decided... i do Bodybuilding. I KNOW I have the discipline. I KNOW I can do the work. I KNOW if i grow (which I will) I can do well... i want to bb Nationals by 2013! The trip is almost over... but the Journey will continue!

we fly into TO on the 26.. the COOLEST thing.. the show is on the CNE grounds, and my daughter is working out there!! so she took the day off to cheer for me!

I have to agree with Steve here (big suprise, he is my husband after all, lol). Great attitude - Compete how you want to look. The judging is sooo soooo soooo subjective you have to compete in this sport for yourself and because you love it.

I know what it's like to have 2 competing in the house. It seems like hell now but it is well worth the payoff in the end!

I loved doing contest prep with CC, we had 0 issues, it made it much easier prepping food together, trng together, good stuff to talk about and goals to achieve together....We loved it so much that 1 of us couldnt compete this yr, so we both opted out to do it again......
Trick is you have to be interested in the same outcome and have that in you from the beginning, For us , it was a blast and we look forward to doing it again in 2011.....
Plus its awesome to see each other progress, and pose together etc.....10/10 IMO
After workout showers are an extra bonus as well....

i have a SHITLOAD of cardio... and nothing but eggwhites and br rice to eat... which sucks but whatever... its only a few more weeks... I feel pretty good, but a little small after watching BB Nationals! haha...

alrighty!! in one weel I will have completed my physique round and should be either doing or gearing up for my Fitness routine!
I can't believe its a week away!.. im finally getting excited! lol... my cardio is down a bit... so is my food (mmmm all egg whites all the time!) however, so is my energy and strength! lol...

I had something shitty happen this week... well it was shitty then turned good. someone stole a hundred bucks from my wallet in the changeroom at the gym. Everyone knows this isnt a cheap sport!.. and its been a pretty tight budget with having Leigh's Nationals 2 weeks before mine... so pretty much, that ws my "spending money"...

well I got pissed, then sad... then mad.. mostly because everyone there knows me and I consider them freinds... i made a facebook post and the most amazing thing happened!.. a bunch of people stepped forward and offered me some help!... every one of them told me that they think it's great what Im doing, or that I inspire them, or thatI have helped them in some way, and they would like to help me back! I was so humbled by the experience!.. i guess people look up to me and recognise the passion that drives me and want to be part of that!...

anywaho... a week till this journey is done and I can start planning the next one!.. well after I eat a bunch of peanutbutter of coarse!

This is the great thing about this sport! I have always said that if my journey influences just 1 person to lead a healthier or happier lifestyle then it's well worth any suffering I had to endure. Sounds like you are a great role model for many!

Hey T!.. yeah it sort of turned into a blog eh? lol maybe I should moderate it over to the journal section!! I Have the Power!!!

Im not a hundred percent YET because right now I am soduim loading and will drop some weight at the end still.. I will weigh myself on the Official scale at weigh ins and see how much I weigh. I am POSITIVE I hit 5 pounds!! might even be a little above that. Since provincials I have been pushing really hard to bring up my glutes and add some shoulders... (which I believe were both areas you pointed out as "could use improvement!" lol... ) well I have succeeded. Jeff (my coach) pulled out some VERY contovercial training methods for my delts... everyone on here will say I overtrained them and that its not going to work.. but I feel it did, I know strength wise, Im still pushpressing OLY bar with quarters, which was my MAX last year, today (and Im pretty depleated right now) I got 10 reps out!... Im hopeing added strength translates into more mass!!
scale today I weigh 123 lbs. If I am over 118 at weigh in.. I will have successfully added over 5 pounds of muscle!

Ange.. thanks! and yeah Baby!! One week and all the judging is pretty much over! lol... I know that no matter where I place... I have given all I could! I haven't cut corners, I haven't taken short cuts, I've given all I have to this endeavour.. I feel exhausted, but GOOD!!

I Think Us canadabodybuilding.com Chicks are gonna do ok!! I hope we make this community proud!! (I mean BOTH new IBBF pros are members of this site!!... lol... Ironic? or does canadabodybuilding.com just ****en ROCK!!!!)

My diet is that of a teenage boy stuck in a powerlifters body lol.. if it makes sense. Basically I am eating like crap. Time to revamp come september for the spring. I need some motivation :(

Today, I feel indestructable!

I'm planning on enjoying toronto a little today and tomorrow. And eating my way from china town, to little italy, through little india, and on to greektown!!

The thought of going back to winnipeg, and to my real life and my shitty union job is depressing. If anyone out there reading this is in thier 20's... and not "tied down"... Follow your dreams!... Do what you love, and you will love what you do! (oh hell... anyone of ANY age should do that... tied down or not!!)

Sunday morning and im not at the gym lifting... feels weird.

Since I've been back to wpg i've seen you a few times out for yer walks while i've driven down portage and all I can say Is that you look stunning hun. Also i've seen some remarkable pics of you on FB from photographers and from what I see you are the hottest woman and most "in shape" woman on stage. The way I see it you are not only tight as hell, but out of all the woman on stage you are the only one who still looks like a str8 up beautiful lady.

You have a good payn union job, a kid who probably thinks the world of you, a spouse who supports you and tends to your sexual needs(YA BABY) AND you are friggin smokin hot.

So I dare ask........why you seem so down?:D

There's usually a couple of weeks of decompression after a major event. Best thing is to rest, recover, and enjoy the personal success. Then back to work :)

well.. Im back home.. and returned to work yesterday, and if there is one thing Ive learned for certain... it is that being just a "bus driver" isn't enough for me any more!

My daughter is graduating this year.. so my focus is going to be on helping her graduate and put her dreams in mothion!... But Im pretty sure you'll be seeing me on the fitness stage at the Canadian national Natural physique show!!

My coach was very pleased with how I looked!

A few judges I heard back from told me I have real "personality" on stage...

My weakness is mostly in the actual skills... and I could have softened my look a bit more... we will see.

I start back training on saturday! lol...

Piffle to softened looks. You looked good.

The routine part might take a few more seasons to develop the technical skills. Some of the women were pretty darn strong gymnasts even at the provincial level.

In some ways it's a shame they don't have fitness for men. It would combine the "classical" bodybuilder look and show some useful strength. I think men's strength routines could rock.

I just read this entire thread. I gotta say.. AWESOME WORK, lady! CONGRATULATIONS! I hope you're still enjoying your accomplishments and success (including your daughter graduating this year :D).

I'm working on packing on mass myself, but its pretty tough going...
